LFCNeil90 Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Apparently the Wigan right back has told Jewell he wants to leave, as they shook hands at Highbury The Wigan offal supposedly is only saying "More news soon"... Clubs being touted ( by punters ) are Us Spurs Newcastle and Man U. With Kromkamp meant to be going back to Holland do you think he'd be a good buy?
Candystore Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 As a back up to Finnan I'd rather see Barragan been given a go, no point spending 4m+ on a back up right back.
Benitez Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 doubt he's be up for sitting on a bench for most of a season, as he would do here. Don't get the fuss with him tbh. He's had a decent season, but he's not a great player.
Guest redmilky Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Fom the small amount i've seen of him this year he's looked good. But he must be an almighty twunt to do that 2 minutes after the last game of their amazing season.
Benitez Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 he's a right whinger. Every time I've seen/read an interview with him ( ok, so thats only about 3 times ) he's whining on about how he doesn't like Wigan (the place), the weather, how it's soooooo cold, blah blah blah. He needs to get a grip the soft get. Anyway, he's one of them full backs that looks good coming forward, but rather suspect and disinterested when it comes to doing his main job - defending!
_00_deathscar Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 He'll end up at Tottenham or Newcastle - most likely Newcastle.

BTW, if he hadn't had that own goal, what would the final table have been?!?!?
crisps Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 if i remember rightly, they all thought he was a c0k at bastia and cos of that he said he got all racial abuse... one of those who do you believe things!

Scally Bob Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Trying to be objective here as I've seen him about ten times this season. He's OK but not better than what we've got. He has lapses in concentration or simply positions himself incorrectly. And this is regularly, not just every now and then. He's much better going forward than he is at defending yet his final ball isn't that great-he often fails to get crosses beyond the first defender. As for his attitude I don't know but it seems to me he's coming the big I am asking for a move after Jewell plucked him from obscurity. Certainly not the additional quality the squad needs to challange for the League next season. In my opinion.
monkey puzzle Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 He scored a couple of goals early on in the season and everyone went bananas about him. Not good enough, can't believe it's even being discussed to be honest.
alias75 Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Looks a decent player but completely the wrong type of full back Rafa needs for his defensive system. Hes out of position way too much we need someone that holds the line well and does his job effectively and consistently. He spends too much time attacking which leaves that side of the defence over exposed. I agree if Krongkamp goes then id like to see Barragan as backup, he hasnt been ultra impressive in the ressies (after an excellent start) but i get the imrpession he finds that level too easy and he could be ready to make the step up for the odd game after all i think he has first team experience in the Spanish 2nd division.
Andy-oh-six Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I can't see Rafa being interested in him. Defensively he is poor and going forward he doesn't produce quality ball every time. I really don't think he would push Steve Finnan at all for first choice* *if he signs he great.
floyd Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 French player. Would his agent be the one and only Willie McKay?? Can't see him coming here if it is.
Guz Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Catches the eye going forward but dont think he's all that defensivley. Maybe one for Newcastle then.
RP Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 He wore gloves through the game yesterday. Unacceptable that.

Falconhoof Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Dule said: I think he will go to United They may have tapped him up. In April Jewell said "He had a clause in his contract that we took out because he had done well, we rewarded him with a new contract and took the clause out. "I have just walked past him in the corridor and asked him if he was on his way to Man Utd and he just laughed. He probably does not know what it means."
Scally Bob Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 His agent is Willie McKay. I think it would be safe to close this thread or move it to the general.
