Just won £1,000 off a gooner

Was down my local poker club tonight and was talking to a gooner - and professional poker player - about his side's up and coming CL final.

 

I was basically wishing him luck and saying they will have a tough job against such an excellent Barca side.

 

He say's "yeah but Liverpool didn't have to face any really good sides to win their European cups in the final itself"

 

Erm ... excuse me. Apart from AC Milan, Real Madrid, Roma etc.

 

He informs me that Liverpool have never won a european cup final against Real Madrid. Hmm ... really. "Bet you £500", he says. "Let's make it £2,000", I say.

 

He's a bit taken aback by my raise of the bet and we agree on £1,000.

 

BTW : If you think he can't afford the bet or I ain't getting the dosh from him, he just won $1,025,205 two weeks ago at the WPT poker tourno at the Bellagio in Vegas so he can afford it. :
