Got Brokeback mountain out on Thursday. Thought it was a tad disappointing to be honest, in fact it was far worse than what I was led to believe.

Just thought it was a bit one dimensional - some great cinematography - but thought the ageing process was a bit laughable (if you want to age 20 years grow a tache or some sideys), and the characters didn't really grip me. Dunno but there have been better films documenting the whole sexuality thing such as My beautiful laundrette for one.

Just think it got the recognition it did because it was the first big hollywood centric film with a highly reputed director at the helm to tackle the subject matter.

Last night I watched Doom which was nicely enjoyable pap and deserves a reet canny 6/10. Some good shocking moments and a plot that wasn't too thin. Kind of a cross between stargate and Alien. Enjoyed the turn of characters from the Rock being the central focus to Reaper being it at the end. The first person bit was laughably / sentimentally great and it was well shot. Rosamund Pike looks well top in it too.

Finally I got Saw II out but my DVD player wouldn't recognise the disc as a region 2  so that gets a nee canny 6/10.
