I was giving it a hefty rendition today and some girl chimes up and says she was in that musical.

 

I didnt have a clue what she was talking about, but i looked it up and she was right. The song was written by Rodgers and Hammerstein in 1945.

 

I had no idea that it went back that far....always thought it was a pop song first

i think it did...

 

i went for children's christmas musical last yr with the theme being music by Rodgers n Hammerstein, the last song for that nite was YNWA!!!!

 

But if someone who's into the music scene and in the know how, prob he or she can clarify..

I had to buy the sheet music for it as we had it playing in the background out my wedding as we were signing the marriage certificate.. I never knew it was from a musical till that point.

They did sing it first, but not at the game because they were always off their faces on Scotch when they heard it at the theatre and couldn't remember the words - or so the story goes.
