He comes from the same school as Tony Adams as in them both being know nothing cretins.

Butcher is such a clueless prick it makes me laugh and Adams and his Wycombe job made me giggle too, why not admit you're s***? I do it.

Not take Rooney to the World Cup? This from the same man who said drop Rooney for Euro 2004 or was that Adams? Either way they're both g*******s.

If fit anyone would take Rooney. But he isn't and the likleyhood is that the whole of the group stages will be overshadowed by will he/won't he be fit nonsense. It really is a gamble.

But Eriksson will take Rooney because he is absolutely clueless, has no plan B and is afraid to stand up to the media. Same with Owen and with Beckham in previous competitions. Eriksson, like the media today, will be in a state of blind panic. A good coach would just get on with it and would have though long ago about how to alter the side and/or the tactics if key individuals were unavailable.

But Butcher is an annoying Ingerlund scrote. I just don't do nationalism.

Butcher is right on this one. Eriksson won't listen though.

I agree. The media will be having a field day. A good coach would make the decision now and ensure the squad kept their focus but Eriksson's not a good coach.

Cobs will disagree, but I don't see any value in SGE at all. A total fraud.

starting from a pretty low base there. England have managed what? 1 final & 2 semis (including 1966) ever? Failed to qualify for various WC & ECs too.

well he keeps qualifying, which is a start

qtr final defeats to Brazil & Portugal were hardly disgraces

s'funny this place, always hear nothing but how players from other teams are over-rated yet slag Sven off for not getting these same players to win a major tournament

The defeat against Portugal bloody was where I was standing. He hardly covered himself in glory with the Brazil one either.

I've no problem getting beaten by Brazil or a good Portugal side, but against a 10 man Brazil we were awful, and when Rooney went off against Portugal, Eriksson replaced him with Vassell and ordered our defenders to start launching the ball over our midfielders towards the two smallest strikers in existence.

 no he didn't

So why the did they then? Why didn't they stop and actually start playing the ball around a bit? Why didn't Eriksson actually get up of his seat and make some suggestions dish out some orders?

He just sat there as if he was in suspended animation.

Eriksson has never been a ranter from the touchline but (according to Michael Owen at least) half time instructions weren't followed by the players on the pitch and they developed a negative mindset and tried to defend their lead as the had successfully done vs Argentina at WC 2002.

you can blame the manager for that if you like but i wouldn't say it's all down to him.
