why were some leaving after the final whistle yesterday?

Doesnt take much to give the players a well deserved applause for a great season does it?

Posted

Getting home early is really that important to some that they would not even have the time to stay and applaud their team at the end of their last game at Anfield this season.

Two people walked in front of me just before the final whistle yesterday, they usually leave early and arrive late for the second half disturbing everyone. Yesterday they decided to say goodbye's to people in the row behind me while standing in front of me, at the last home game she stopped to text in front of me. These people should have their season tickets removed.

Not that I was arsed, but I actually got home earlier than normal despite staying behind almost til they'd all gone back down the tunnel. Obviously due to the staggering of departure times from the ground I guess.

What I'm saying is, those muppets who left could have stayed and would probably have been home no later than normal due to traffic dispersion. I'm not saying it matters, but it's their loss. And yes, they should hand their ST over to me

First person I saw leaving was around 84/85 minutes.

You don't know how far some of them have to travel home Anny. Not all of our fans live in Liverpool you know ! ;) They may have needed to hit the road early to get home at a reasonable hour.

There are far too many people attending games who are fans of Liverpool because it is 'fashionable' where as real, more diehard fans can't get a ticket.

Saw some 82 minutes leavers

Our OOT supporters club coach waits for the lap of honour, so do most if not all of the coaches that are parked up across the park, as none of us / them can leave until the coaches are filled and move out together or until the police get the drivers to back them up to make space.

Maybe some people would rather get off and get to the alehouse quicker, rather than watch the players walking around the pitch parading their kids!

It happens every match anyway not just yesterday, all whoppers of the highest order.

See where you are coming from, and I can only speak for myself. I live near Portsmouth now, though my mum still lives in Liverpool (very handy for parking!) and when I can get a ticket for the game it is something like a twelve hour plus round trip including the game.

I have never left a game without applauding the players of at the end, maybe it is down to having spent some time in Yorkshire, but having paid 30 off quid for a ticket I dont see why I should miss a minute!

I have always hesitated to slag anyone off for leaving early, it being a free country and what have you, and some may say it is because I can't get to the match that often. But even going back to paying 10 bob to stand on the boys pen ( might have the price wrong it was along time ago lol ) every week, never left until it was all over, and really cant get my head round why anyone would.

Like I say that is just me, personally I would say leave the gates locked til the final whistle, exceot I remember too many times when I had no money and running in for the last five minutes was the only chance I had.

Having typed this think I might have changed my mind. If you cant support the side for 90 mins give your ticket to someone that can!

Just felt the need to throw my tuppence worth in.

Feck that, let Ant have the mike, he'll be charging them all two quid to get out of the ground.

People Leaving Early could be for any amount of good reasons.

Just because they leave early does not make them any more or less of a fan.

Granted it doesn't take much to say goodbye, but God Knows what people might have to do

To be honest I don?t think there is anything wrong with people leaving at the end of the game, for whatever reason. I reckon a few people just aren?t arsed about seeing the players and kids walking round the field. They could applaud the team at the end of the game and then get off.
