My seat is in the Paddock, pretty close to the away fans so I get an earfull off them most weeks.

Gotta be said that Villa fans have been the best set of away fans to come to us in the PL this season...

Loads of them in fancy dress and when four fellas with horse masks on got escorted away by the police everyone cheered and one guy even though he had his arm twisted right up his back by the copper he still gave a bit of a gallop.... then the Villa fans sang 'we want our horses back'..

Scooby Doo got arrested too as did two nuns, and they looked pretty f***ed off about it to be honest..

What I liked the most was that 70% of the away fans applauded Stevies 2nd goal, and gave him a good reception down at the corner flag.... a load waited around to applaude the players on the lap of honour too....

Was funny outside the Arkles when walking away from the ground, they were all singing 'Southend on a Friday Night, Southend on a Friday Night...........'

The 'O'leary for England' banner was amusing too

I thought it was funny as hell when whoever it was was shouting "HANDBALL!" every time the ball went near a player in the first half.

It was probably John Motson having one of his turns.

that nobhead copper that patrols the front of the paddock thinking hes Tony Almeda CTU was laughing his head off at them shouting that.... never seen him crack a smile before.

Another comedy moment was when a large inflatable football landed on the pitch by the away fans and a steward went and got it and all the way along the front of the Villa fans he went pretending to hand it to a supporter and when they came over to grab it the steward ran off a bit and teased them, did it about four or five times and was laughing his head off, then he got rid of it and the Villa fans started singing 'Thieving little scouser'

Had us in stitches up in the Anny Road

Villa fans always seem to create a good atmosphere - apparently they were having a great sing in The Arkles too

Nah, Motson would be screeching "Rooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyy."

And Lawreson would be saying "Ner John, he's not playing, it's Liverpool Vs Aston Villa."

And Motson would still go "Rooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyy"

For Lawrenson to go "John, I told you a merment ager that Rooney isn't playing"

To which Motson would reply "Yes Mark, you're right, it's J'loyd Samuel."

Why are the fans in fancy dress arrested?

You've got to amuse yourself somehow following Villa. Must be far more interesting to watch the other fans then the players on the pitch.

Fair play to them, they were quite loud and some of their chanting was quite - funny particulary the "handball" chants (also had some on the train back singing "we're sh@t and we know we are") however they spoilt it a bit with their "sign, sign on" crap

Baggies fans where the best away lot in the prem this season. Shame they have got relegated. good lot they are.

But like last season, Villa where good fans as well. Maybe we are just catching them at a good time - their last away trip of the season - so its an excuse for a party however chite your season, and boy have they had a chite season.

What was the story behind the 'Handball' chants then?

we shout for a very vague handball at some point (its all a blur, can't remember when :D ). Then for some reason they then decide to shout for hand ball every time the ball goes anywhere near a player for like the next few minutes

Anyway.... they where made up when they knew Brum had gone down - the highlight of their season. That is how far the Villa have fallen.

Some people think United fans are a bit extreme in their hatred and dislike for Glazer, but it doesn't even come close to how the Villa fans I've met feel about Doug Ellis. Absoulte passionate loathing of the man, we're talking organising parties to dance on his grave type emotions, over the way he's stifled the club.

reckon Doug's backed many a manager with cash over the years

perhaps Villa fans would be better served turning up to Villa Park (do they ever fill it these days?) to support their team rather than bitching about the Chairman

Oh I agree, he's not the monster they think he is, but I can't say I honestly think he does the best thing for the football club.

I couldn't care either way about him really, I'd never want someone like him in charge of us thats for sure, but I think its interesting how other clubs view themselves and who their hate figures are.

To be fair I always remember them being vocal but respectful of quality players and performances. Remember us battering them in a night match and them applauding us, and then remember them giving Owen a better reception than we ever did, the week follwing his hat-trick in Munich for england.

I was stuck in the middle of them for that game, some of them even started to sing his name.

Speaking of fans in fancy dress.... among the throngs of Pompey fans we met on the way home, very happy bunch they were :D

there was a group of Aldershot Town fans all dressed up like Nora Batty pretending to be a man, pretending to be a woman

sort of like

Villa fans made me laugh yesterday all decked out in fancy dress outfits.

Clocked A horse, superman, a dog, a nun, father christmas and the pink panther.

Think most of them got pulled by the old bill, First to go was the horse.

The Villa fans then started siniging "We want our horse back,we want our horse back". Next was the dog, then seeing a nun being lead away by police was a bit strange.

Madness.
