Tosh Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I got carded in a restaurant a few days back - buying a beer and they wanted ID I am 40... The only other time I have been asked for ID when buying booze was also in Texas. Apparently, the legislature here have passed a law saying that sellers of booze must have ID of all buyers of booze. It came about when the authorities decided that a bloke was guilty of disorderly behaviour in a hotel bar. That would be his hotel bar, where he was drinking and could take the lift back to his room. No danger of driving... Bar staff are basically responsible for ensuring no-one drinks too much... Arrested, charged and lost his job.. There'd be no room in the police stations if that happened in the UK
