NWR Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 (edited) Goes for scan on Monday. Bad day So mick Quinn says on Talksport Edited April 29, 2006 by N.W.R.Devil
stressederic Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 So Crouch and Defoe in the summer it is then. At this rate Robbie really will be in with a chance on the plane.
dorgie Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Roeder was just on 5live and he didn't sound too positive about it. Said Owen was quite uncomfortable after today's run out and that he felt some pain in the foot. Looks like they've brought him back too soon to prove he is fit and it could now work against him. Fowler for England !
R A Softlad Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Too Right, God and Crouchie for the World Cup.

Guest Scot Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 The gamble didn't pay off either for Newcastle or Owen.
NWR Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 All we need is Gerrard to get injured, and we may as well not go to the Finals. BTW Fowler could not cut it in an England shirt when he was in his prime. I dont think he is the answer
Benzo-13 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 (edited) Sven will have to change his system if they keep dropping like this. Reckon a 5 man midfield will work with Joke as the link man.. Then again it might all just be precautionry stuff.. Edited April 29, 2006 by Benzo-13

smithdown Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 BTW Fowler could not cut it in an England shirt when he was in his prime. I dont think he is the answer Which tournament are you thinking of there?
stressederic Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 The gamble didn't pay off either for Newcastle or Owen. The rushing him back from injury gamble or the spending £17m and agreeing to sign for them gamble?
Guest Scot Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 The rushing him back from injury gamble or the spending £17m and agreeing to sign for them gamble? Owen: Signing for a crap team to preserve personal England ambitionsBarcodes: Spending a sh*tload of money on a player they know they won't have long-term
Guest Jack Bauer Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Part of me is laughing at his career spiraling downhill after leaving us, but most of me feels sorry for him.
IgPig Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 (edited) BTW Fowler could not cut it in an England shirt when he was in his prime. I dont think he is the answer He never got a real chance for England cause Shearer was in possession. Don't think he "never cut it". Did well when he played and scored etc but his chances were pretty sporadic. And he's probably not the answer now. Best striker I've seen in the flesh though. Edited April 29, 2006 by hamstrung
R A Softlad Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Robert Bernard Fowler Internationals played: 26International goals 7 For a striker who hardly got a look in that's not a bad record.
Cobs Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Robert Bernard Fowler Internationals played: 26International goals 7 For a striker who hardly got a look in that's not a bad record.only 11 starts too crying shame really for a lad of that talent to have played for his country so few times
R A Softlad Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Couldn't agree more mate. Still think he could be worth a shout IF Rooney and Owen are out.
Guest Red Mist Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 LOL @ Owen. He put England above everything, even the club who made him a star, and now he could end up missing the WC for his beloved England. I have no sympathy for him, and will be greatly amused if injury prevents him from going to the World Cup. After moving to that this sh*thole of a club just to safeguard his England place (like it was ever in danger), the irony of him missing the tournament he transferred for is hilarious.
Cam Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 for Misty. Feck him. Still think he'll end up there, 60% fit and useless but depriving someone else of the chance. Hope it puts him back for the start of the season.
NWR Posted April 30, 2006 Author Posted April 30, 2006 I am a United fan first an England fan second. If Robbie does it for England I will shout his name all over the place believe me. When it comes to England I dont care who they play for.
Rimbeux Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 What I don't want to see is a load of gambles on the plane. Cole is struggling for games, but is at least fit, Rooney is out, there is no point considering him, and if Owen is struggling now, Owen who generally needs half a dozen games, he should not be considered either. Change the system, play one up front, and dominate midfield.
NWR Posted April 30, 2006 Author Posted April 30, 2006 Robbie was never as good for England as he was for Liverpool. Ok he never got a run, but there had to be a reason for that. Yes he scored a few goals, but who were they against? Lets face it, there was never a public outcry that he was not in the team like there was for Owen and Becks in 98, or public despair re Rooney this time. Fowler imo was one of the greatest strikers the PL has known, but like Andrew Cole he could not carry that over to England. Just my opinion
