Maldini Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 IIRC Birmingham being relegated means they don't have to pay the final installment of the Heskey fee. Also, I'd just like to say again that we should get Pennant, he's superb.

Lee W Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 You hate him though, no ? Not a Rafa player ? Shall I say sign Bellamy while I'm here ?
Maldini Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 I've been over this before. I think Pennant is just a bit of an idiot, Bellamy's a complete c*nt. Anyway, I don't think Bellamy is good enough for us, Pennant certainly is.
Gerry Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 £1m wasn't it? £3.5M initial fee with £1M for the next three seasons. Still, we musn't grumble about £5.5M for a 5-goal a season forward.

Just looked; £3.5M initial fee, rising to £6.25M due to clauses (from the BBC). The rest is down to my very dodgy memory, so who knows? I definitely agree the clause was simply a non-relegation thingmygig though.

Don't see how you you differentiate between the two to be honest...
Guest snez1 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Who cares, Heskeys f***ing gone, that's the main thing. Pennant for £2m anyone?

Guest neuklon Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I'd have paid £1.5m just to get shot of him.

RafaShanks Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I can't believe some of the money spent during Ged's reign

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 same with every manager - Wenger - Wiltord, jug-ears & some other s****. Exlax - Veron, Forlan

If a manager delivers the top trophies, his bad signings can be excused. If he doesn't, then people will question why, and invariably it will be pointed out that certain signings could have worked out better.
Dule Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 A move to us is exactly what Pennant needs to make the next step in his career. He has all the talent in the world, but under a coach like Rafa (and seriousness of playing for a big club that he loves) he will become the player he was touted to be when he was 15. He will be a very cheap option, low wages (well not extream) and we cant lose on him.

owenthomas Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 said it before and i'll say it again - we should sign Pennant.. no questions.. in fact, i think i'd rather him than SWP.. *makes himself comfortable and *
