IIRC Birmingham being relegated means they don't have to pay the final installment of the Heskey fee.

Also, I'd just like to say again that we should get Pennant, he's superb.

Cause to celebrate apparently. (See thread in the General Football Forum)

I've been over this before. I think Pennant is just a bit of an idiot, Bellamy's a complete c*nt. Anyway, I don't think Bellamy is good enough for us, Pennant certainly is.

£1m wasn't it? £3.5M initial fee with £1M for the next three seasons.

Still, we musn't grumble about £5.5M for a 5-goal a season forward. ;)

Agree about Pennant, he's a quality player. Love to see him play for us

I thought it was £3m up front and £1.5m for the next two seasons so long as they weren't relegated.

Just looked; £3.5M initial fee, rising to £6.25M due to clauses (from the BBC). The rest is down to my very dodgy memory, so who knows? I definitely agree the clause was simply a non-relegation thingmygig though.

If so, I haven't seen it. They are both good enough, but need better management - Bellamy has proved that. Don't see how you you differentiate between the two to be honest...

Who cares, Heskeys f***ing gone, that's the main thing.

Pennant for £2m anyone?

I'd have paid £1.5m just to get shot of him.

Good man, lets get rid of all our players at a loss and go into liquidation, at least we would be shot of all those f*****s.

Especially as we paid 11 million for him :hmm:

Exactly. Everyone signs duds.

If a manager delivers the top trophies, his bad signings can be excused. If he doesn't, then people will question why, and invariably it will be pointed out that certain signings could have worked out better.

A move to us is exactly what Pennant needs to make the next step in his career.

He has all the talent in the world, but under a coach like Rafa (and seriousness of playing for a big club that he loves) he will become the player he was touted to be when he was 15.

He will be a very cheap option, low wages (well not extream) and we cant lose on him.

said it before and i'll say it again - we should sign Pennant.. no questions..

in fact, i think i'd rather him than SWP..
