alext Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Do you think he will move on or stay in the Championship? If it was me and I was as rich as he is, then I'd prefer to be a big fish in a little pond.

stressederic Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Wouldn't be surprised to see him go to one of the newly promoted teams.
Repington Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Who in their right mind would want him? Sheffield United.
stressederic Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Emile Heskey will become the next Les Ferdinand, Paul Dickov etc. I can see him turning into a bit of a journey man, moving from promoted club to promoted club, each one looking to buy a "proven premiership striker" and hoping he'll score the goals that will keep them in the league.
Paul_LFC Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Reading will be sniffing around Mr Heskey, or maybe even Wigan - if they lose Roberts.
DazzlaJ Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Wouldn't be surprised to see him go to one of the newly promoted teams. Southend?
Gilps Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Not a chance Heskey will stay there. Nor will Pennant, Dunn, Taylor, Upson, Forsell or Jarosik. Like Southampton last year, they'll lose half their team and struggle in the championship. Which is of course a dreadful shame.
cymrococh Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 He looked woeful on the 'highlights'. Him and Forsell as a partnership could have got a team to the upper reaches of the CL 4 or 5 years ago.
Gilps Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 He looked woeful on the 'highlights'. He didn't quite look the man you wanted leading the line in a game you needed to win to stay up, it must be said. I for one was surprised.
wacko Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Not a chance Heskey will stay there. Nor will Pennant, Dunn, Taylor, Upson, Forsell or Jarosik. Guest ritchie_50 Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Heskey's a good player when he can be arsed but his motivation is terrible and he stops trying when he's been at a club for a while, so he'll become a real journeyman yo yo type player.
libero Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Good luck to the guy wherever he ends up.What he said. Once a red always a red in my opinion, I always want our ex players to do well after they leave us(although not against us obviously) just because they arnt good enough for us anymore shouldnt blur the facts they have played for us. Except Diouf that is.
Behind Enemy Lines Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 I see today that Nicky Butt is already having to modify his lifestyle following relegation - shopping in Tescos at lunchtime - Premier league players use the Sainsburys
Fagan Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 I can just see him lining up for man city for some reason.
Guest Kev Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 The North West is his preferred destination. Blackburn Rovers have been sniffing.
Cam Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 (edited) Blackburn Rovers have been sniffing. Oh please let that happen, I'd wet myself laughing. But next seasons team consisting of Friedel, Matteo, Hyypia, Fowler, Sinama & Heskey. Edited April 30, 2006 by Cam
Owen1978 Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 The North West is his preferred destination. Blackburn Rovers have been sniffing. Dickov is better!
Maldini Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 He could still do a great job for about three-quarters of the teams in the league.
galés rojo Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 He could still do a great job for about three-quarters of the teams in the league. Didn't do a great job and Birmingham though did he. Heskey is the sort of player every manager looks at thinking they can probably turn him into the player his attributes suggest he could be, the thing is they probably can't.
