magneto Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Why on earth did Valencia sell him? He's an amazing talent at his age.
DazzlaJ Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 (edited) Why did they feck off rafa, sort off? Edited April 28, 2006 by Dazzla
Benitez Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Why on earth did Valencia sell him? He's an amazing talent at his age. They had another highly rated central midfielder as I recall, so where prepared to allow one to go. But I do also recal the VCF fans being pissed off at them selling Momo. Also, when he was supposed to go to Everton, valencia put in that cluase that they could buy him back. But, whatever reasons, Valencia are doing well for themselves again, so they have the squad to cope!
Ronnie Whelan Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 his best performance in a red shirt on wednesday night.
Flasher Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 his best performance in a red shirt on wednesday night. I beg to differ. I think it was his best in a white shirt.
McBain Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Whenever I saw him for Valencia he wasn't as good as he is now. He's come on leaps and bounds this season. I imagine they are well pissed off with the decision
Falconhoof Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Didn't Ranieri have him playing as a centre forward, in the hole, out wide and everywhere? He was just a kid then anyway, no doubt he understands what our football is about and what Rafa wants from him. He's a real diamond.
Stanley Leisure Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Couldn't imagine Momo's game going down too well in Spain - certainly not in its current form. He'd get sent off a lot and not allowed as much space in midfield. He's made for a league like ours. Best signing in recent years, that lad.
adster Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 At the time it probably made good business sense, considering they had just brought in Edu from Arsenal on a bosman.Don't think he's played a single game for them due to a cruciate injury sustained in pre-season whilst Momo's performances have just got better and better.Hindsight's a wonderful thing though!
Dee Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 what p1sses me off is that he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. The young fella playing in the middle for Arsenal sometimes is hailed as the new Viera... on second thoughts, perhaps it's a good thing
sean Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 He's ideally suited to the Premiership, more so than La Liga as he can be a tad wasteful in possession. I always feel a lot more confident with him starting. No one gets it easy off Momo
floyd Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 what p1sses me off is that he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. if he played for Spurs, he'd be Young player of the year

Bootle Buck Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Another product of the Auxerre Academy I believe. They have certainly turned out some good talent. We should have a scout permanantly camped out there.

The young fella playing in the middle for Arsenal sometimes is hailed as the new Viera... on second thoughts, perhaps it's a good thing definitely - let him grow in stature off the sky radar..... *cough* Xabi *cough* agree with xabi bit but momos improvement exponentially, for what we paid is nothing short of amazing.
RedNik Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Cisse is cursed by his price tag. Very talented, no doubting.
Magic8Ball Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Cisse is cursed by his price tag. Very talented, no doubting.Cisses problem is his age (24) were he 19 -21 I would definately keep him if Cisse can learn to cross as well with his left foot as he can with his right foot hes well on his way to being extremly useful for us - but not as a main striker, as the play just behind a holding striker like crouch
RedNik Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Do people honestly think that Peter Crouch can lead our attack in the long run ?

Magic8Ball Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Cisse as a link striker? Is that so we can take advantage of his first touch, great technique, selflessness and eye for an incisive pass?didnt say link striker but there is more than one way of setting up your main striker - or scoring yourself playing behind crouch lets him run onto crouch's knock downs being able to cross with either foot means he can move out wide cross from either wing for crouch and the midfielders can bomb forward hoping to score
CaptainXabi Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Cisse as a link striker? Is that so we can take advantage of his first touch, great technique, selflessness and eye for an incisive pass?He actually does have an eye for an incisive pass though.
Earl Hafler Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Do people honestly think that Peter Crouch can lead our attack in the long run ? We play better as a team with Crouch or Morientes than we did with Baros. Federation Against Copyright Theft.
