Guest Aussie_Red Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I think both players, Collins and Garcia, will both be missing the final. However since it was a random and minor incident and because of the circumstances of the final perhaps they will both only be banned for only two matches. I think the ref made the wrong decision, it wasn't that big a tussle and I believe both players should've only recieved yellow cards.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 No interviews. Just Pete Price coming on, the c***.
Bootle Buck Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Garcia should have stayed on his feet. Once he went down the other players got involved. That caused more of a commotion than it should have been. The Ref should have erred on the side of being conservative and given them yellow cards. There had been no problems in the game and only a few minutes to go. Very silly from both players.
Tones Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 2 yellows would have been fairer. though i really dont see either player winning an appeal.
Jim D Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Can't see it being overturned by the FA unless the referee admits to an error in his decision. If he doesn't then the FA will back the referee, can't see the FA undermining their own officials.
Benitez Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 fecin referee Just seen it again now, and that seems a bit of a harsh decision to send him off. Stupid from both players, but couldnt the ref have given it a seconds thought before showing the red, snot like we're dealing with serial offenders here! Bah!
Guest Jack Bauer Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Garcia is important, but not that important. We'll just put Kewell in where Garcia played in the semi and Cisse on the left.
Rimbeux Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 What is correct is that if Garcia stays up, there's no ruck, and neither are off.
Guest Red Mist Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I f*cking hate play-acting, injury-feigning sh*ts. Pity Luis had to be one today. Went down as if he took a left hook square on the jaw when he was barely caught. The pansy, sort it out Luis. And he swung an elbow at Mullins and caught him in the back, that's a red card under the rules. If Luis is banned for the final, he has nobody to blame but himself.
Falconhoof Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Not the first time Luis has done a bit of acting. Not something I want associated with our team. Infuriating player.
el_berto Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Garcia is important, but not that important. We'll just put Kewell in where Garcia played in the semi and Cisse on the left. I'd probably say the same, gerrard right, Cisse left

Mad_Fer_It Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 MULLINS PUNCHED HIM IN THE FACE, NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT
Guest Marshy Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 It was handbags and nothing more, yellows should have been produced for both players. Normally i'd say there's no chance of the sentence's being reduced but as tonights game was between the 2 cup final teams and the decision affects both teams maybe the Ref/FA will do the decent thing but whatever happens they won't reduce/rescind the red cards for one without doing the same for the other.
Benitez Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 MULLINS PUNCHED HIM IN THE FACE, NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT he didnt punch him, but he raised his arm, so guess it makes fec all difference by the 'laws of the game' like, red innit
Moose Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 .. but whatever happens they won't reduce/rescind the red cards for one without doing the same for the other. Which is exactly why I think Luis will miss the final.
smithdown Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 how f***ing ironic you saying you don't like play acting, considering your whole forum persona is a fecin act! Simulation from red mist. Straight red for you both, Benitez!!! What is correct is that if Garcia stays up, there's no ruck, and neither are off. Looked like it, maybe even no yellows from some refs. Just seemed the ref felt he had to do something cos there was some wading in.
Barnesy_10 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I bet he never even realised that he could miss it till Rafa reminded him in the changing rooms..Got no sympathy.... play acting is doing my head in, and a week after Reina and other LFC players have gone on about Chelsea players doing it then one of our own does it and jeopardises tactical decisions we might have had for the final...Love Luis, but hes annoyed me tonight.... the squad worked hard and were on the way to a result... Garcia comes on for a few minutes and puts a downer on it all....
Guest Makaveli Smith Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 He threw an elbow in Mullins back as he spun around, then Mullins spun around with his hands up and caught Luis in the face. Luis went down like he'd been punched, unfortunately. Really should have been a yellow card each, there was no malice in either action. I could see Mullins getting a straight red, but I'm surprised on Luis - possibly two yellows, one for the elbow and one for "simulation", but not really a straight red. If we appeal...how quickly are they heard generally? there isn't a hope in hell that it will be overturned... if we make a big deal of it and appeal, the FA will simply stand by the ref as usual and reject it... bunch of morons.. but what can ya do?
Benitez Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 What an attractive photo It's the arm flinging that does it It's stoopid, because as Mullins had raised his arm and got him in the face, that is a red card, so Luis didn't need to do amateur dramatics to make sure the referee saw it.
Kenny_ Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 A woeful decision by the ref. Garcia didn't even deserve a booking. Play acting? Did he f***! Mullins clearly hit him.
Kindred Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 # Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez:"We will see if we can appeal because both players apologised to each other and the referee. "I think that the referee understands the situation. He will watch the video again and if he sees something different he will put it in his report. "In this case, with the two teams playing in the final maybe someone can be sensible." Beeb
Benitez Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez:"We will see if we can appeal because both players apologised to each other and the referee. Beeb Now I can imagine Rafa and Alan Pardew marching 'em both in to see the referee after the game, like naughty schoolkids
