Im supposed to be having dinner with Michael Owen and about 12 other people tonight. I'm well excited as he's one of my favourite players and I'd love to see him back at anfield.

Anyway, it could go 2 ways, i'll either get to ask him a question with everyone listening or if im lucky i'll get a chance to speak to him one on one even if its only to get an autograph for a mate.

So what questions do you think could give us the best new information?

The obvious question is if he's coming back to anfield in the summer but he'd no doubt straight bat that question even if he knew the answer about whether rafa really wants him. Shame as i'd like to hear his answer to "if you were a gambling man (ahem) would you bet on you being a liverpool player in the summer?".

Im tempted to wrap the question around rafa. coincidentally im just reading his autobiography and he mentions that in euro 2004 when rafa came to visit he was more preoccupied with stevie than him and i wondered if that pissed him off a bit. so that and the doubts about how hard rafa pushed for him last summer makes me interested to ask about his thoughts about rafa, particularly the crux of my question which would be "having seen how rafa's liverpool play, do you think you could fit into his system?"

so what do you guys thinks?

cheers!

Ask him if his 30 pieces of silver were worth it.

Ask did he think he got a fair crack of the whip at Madrid, and in hindsight does he regret leaving Liverpool ?

Also, Ask him:

Agents get a very bad press and the majority of fans do not trust them. How can you trust someone to do the right thing for you when their sole income is based on the amount of money he makes off your back ?

yeah they re pretty good. i cant imagine hed admit to making a mistake leaving liverpool, he'll know doubt talk about the experience of being abroad etc. he MUST do deep down, surely?

he's very close with his agent isnt he? thats a good question

When I saw Andy on this thread, I thought his question would be:

"Who would win a fight between an elephant and a piece of cheese"

Ask him if Madrid asked about him, or we offerd him to them.

The eternal "Huevo de Colon" question as they say over here. Madrid asked first after being prompted by his agent.

it does amaze me how angry people still are with him for leaving. i understand the reasons, but ultimately he scored a feck load of goals for us, gave us amazing memories - cup final 2001 for one, he didnt cost us anything and he had a chance to live abroad and play for real madrid, one of the few clubs as big as us.

ive lived abroad and it was an amazing, life changing experience, so i for dont begrudge him for that.

the more worrying question if you read elisa's comments is "would you ever play for man utd"

could ask him why when he's earnt so much from the game he gives so little back to the fans.

do you really think thats true rushian? do you mean from a charity viewpoint etc?

"egg in my colon" question?

these are my brother's questions for what it's worth:

1. "which footballer do you hate the most - its gary neville isnt it?" a beautifully loaded question

2. "who is the thickest footballer youve ever met and whats the thickest thing he's ever done?" probably rooney and joining the scum / "always a blue" t shirt

Or you could ask him whether if the fans had given him the support he deserved - he would have considered going elsewhere.

i quite like that question, coming from the pro-owen side of things.

it would be interesting to know what prompted the move. if figaro is right and owens agent approached madrid, what happened that summer to change his mind. his autobiography ends just as stevie agrees to stay (the first time) and there is no mention of discontent from owen. thats why i thought owen's comments about benitez being more focused on gerrard suggested his nose was put out of joint.

ask him who Newcastle's new manager is going to be, then go and tell Sean.

hopefully he wont care as he'll have come home.

I'd ask him what he felt when he was going through his "Couldn't hit an elepahnt's a*** with Crouchie's banjo" phase a couple of years ago. My impression was that the crowd supported him then like never before. Did he "feel" this? and if so why wouldn't he want to again.

Also, ask him if he feels he can form a partnership with Fowler.

Ask him was he embarassed for both himself and the Geordie hoardes when they pathetically filled up a stand on a normal working non-match day to greet their new trophy (him).

good questions. im interested about the fowler angle. he talks like they got on but i always used to think fowler would often try and not pass to him. i think it was a cup game v newcastle in particular where robbie seemed to ignore him all game and the first time he passed to owen in extra time owen scored and we went through.

i think now that robbies lost pace and tends to drop a bit deeper now, i think they would compliment each other better than before.

good question that. thanks case!
