For all those thinking about upgrading their tvs

Just got the Samsung 50" DLP tv yesterday. Setup was easy and everything is plug and play, so even a chimp could do it. The picture is fantastic and clearly huge. Angled viewing is not a problem in practice - I have it in a very large room and I can't find an angle where I experience any noticeable deterioration.

 

For those who are plasma/lcd fans its worth some serious consideration at 1.5k. In store, the blacks often let them down compared to the adjacent plasmas and lcds. This is primarily due to lighting and a marginally better black/contrast of the flatscreen technologies. However at home the picture is excellent. The blacks are superb and with a litlle colour adjustment you can get a near pitch black with excellent colour resolution. And at home you will never experience the 'side by side' effect anyway. Sound wise I would recommend a subwoofer, but thats the same with most screens.

 

Great buy and I'm over the moon. The model has recently been discontinued, so have a look while you still can.
