Monday papers linking him to the England job. The Express even going as far as saying its a done deal, and that England have opted for him ahead of the English candidates.

Think he's a great choice personally.

The british candidates in the frame are just about good enough to manage Latvia - they shouldn't be let anywhere near the job.

Sam Allardyce 'a great candidate when you consider what he's achieved at Bolton'...which is what?? Avoided relegation, lost a Carling Cup final to a mediocre team (managed by another candidate) and so far avoided relegation by recruiting seasoned old foriegn players for the most part, while complaining about ...er... 'foreigners' in management. has won....bugger all.

Steve 'poor man's el tel' McClaren. Won a carling cup and not done appallingly with a sizable wodge of cash. Got to the latter stages of a UEFA cup, knocked out of a semi-final by a not great West ham side. Like fat Sam has a team of journeymen seasoned old pros (again maninly foriegn players - and some academy kids who look half useful.

His own Captain says he's not ready for the job.

Alan Curbishley - Don't just don't...Has kept Charlton up - most of the time. No Europeasn experience to speak of.

That's all folks.

Martin O'Neil - You have to be kidding. He'll be on to John Hartson to change his passport and will dispense with a midfield alltogether.

What dismal choices.

Big Phil Scolari : Been there, won that. has a coaching profile all the rest combined can't come close to. Get him in.

Guus Hiddink was the outstanding available candidate. If he was English he'd have been offered the job with 5 minutes of Sven's resignation announcement.

Scolari is the best available now but I think it's McLarens. Once Boro have played their UEFA semi, they'll announce it.

I don't give a feck as I hate England

Funny young Stuart Pearce has come out against Phil Scolari saying the groundswell of public opinion if for an English manager. The BBC poll today has Scolari getting %32 of the votes, way ahead of any English manager.

Whats this groundswell of public opinion he's talking about ?

He's basing it on people he's met on the street, mostly citeh fans telling him to f*ck off to England.

What the **** is Stuart Pearce doing, saying that public opinion should be taken into consideration ? I heard someone on Saturday talking about Coppell being the best candidate for the job.
