2-footed players

A rarity, but look at Luis Garcia. Yesterday with his left & in the Derby with his right, both excellent finishes, bursting with technique.

 

Thjat makes him invaluable, with the ball near the box, he can go either way & seems just as happy to hit it with either foot.

 

Other players like Stevie G seem to be using their left more - Finnan seems happy on either, but LG genuinely seems to be happy on either

He didn't look too happy with his right when he skied the chance at the end of the first half!

 

Finnan does cross well with both feet though.

don't think the problem in the first half was that his technique was bad, it was the choice of surface that was poor. if he side foots it, we are looking at 2-0. since he hit it with the laces he had little chance. tough ball to hit like that, but then he pulls out the outside of the boot looping volley to make us all love him again...

If Riise had a right foot, we would have won 2-0......he decided to head from 6" rather than use his right foot. Only thing he did wrong all day mind.

Yep...some of those passes he puts on a sixpence with his left foot!

Alonso and Garcia are almost completely two-footed, in that they can hit a 40 yard pass or take a difficult chance equally comfortably with either foot. Finnan is also totally happy with the ball on his left foot.

 

Everyone else except Riise can use their other foot reasonably well when they have to, but for me those 3 are significantly ahead of the rest.

an on-formed nando is equally 2-footed. his problem is that he hasn't quite found his form for a long time...

I really hope he pulls a 'Harry' though ... for him as much as for the team. Seems an honest player and trier and was once a great player - it'd be a shame for him to end his career (or leave Liverpool) without showing the fans what he really is capable of...

Someone who is often overlooked in this debate is Sami - he is quite comfortable on either side and can pass it equally well with either foot.
