IgPig Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 (edited) I have just realised I am likely to be in Spain (Malaga area) when the FA Cup final is on. Presumbly its on the telly over there? Would most pubs have it on? Please reassure me or else I am going to stay at home and probably get divorced. obviously title should be FAO but I am drunk. Edited April 22, 2006 by hamstrung

BG Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 which side of it: the costal del sol [marbella end] or out towards Nerja/axarquia area Will be on everywhere around that area.
IgPig Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 (edited) edit - just checked - i am going from osuna to cadiz on the 13th. looks like i'll be in jerez in the afternoon. we're supposed to be doing this on the 13th:- - Moron de la Frontera (a.m.)- Arcos le la Frontera (a.m.)- Jerez (whole afternoon) – visit to major Horse Fair (Gonzalez Hontoria Park) – festivities, mucho vino, dancing, fairground, horses (surprisingly).- On to Cadiz Get ta f***. Not a chance I am doing any of that if the cup final is on. don't know what sort of size place jerez is but i guess they'll have it on in bars. and if there's a horse fair (!?) on there might be spare seats! Magic8Ball Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 not only are liverpool considered a "spanish team" but I cant believe you wont find a brit bar in Malaga thats showing it sure there is a little uncertainty and risk but I think you'll be able to see the match
Snookie Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 There are a few English bars in Jerez. you should have no problems. From memory, one of the Spanish channels also shows the cup final. I can remember watching it Nerja in 2001 on Spanish TV and thanking god i didnt have to listen to Motty's sheep skin coat trying to mangle the English language.
hagi_complex Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 It's the FA Cup final. You'll be able to see it in Siberia. Man up, ffs.
IgPig Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 It's the FA Cup final. You'll be able to see it in Siberia. Man up, ffs. Drunken panic last night when i realised i was in spain. A man needs to know exactly where'll he be when the match is on.
fyds Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Drunken panic last night when i realised i was in spain. A man needs to know exactly where'll he be when the match is on.Better still - he doesn't want to be booked on a holiday when there is a chance (now a reality) that we will be in said match!
IgPig Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 Better still - he doesn't want to be booked on a holiday when there is a chance (now a reality) that we will be in said match! Indeed. Forgot all about the fa cup. Made sure I told the wife when the season ended, when the champions league final was and the world cup started and told her to book it outside those times. Having said that, she should really have checked, so i blame her.
Jimi Rojo Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 If you were going to be in Malaga you could have watched it with me in a small but loyal Reds bar in Benalmadena..... I wouldn't be too cocky about watching it. The beeb has the FA cup which means you can't watch it on Canal Plus (they only have the league games) You need a brit bar with Sky or hope the spanish terrestrial channels decide to 'buy' the final and show it. I have absolutely no idea about Jerez, but if you can't find a bar with Sky I'll say nice things about Chelsea!!!!
Figaro Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 If you can't find the typical Irish theme pub - horrible food, horrible prices and full of horrible Scot's (Not the nationality but the plonker on here) then it will be on DSF Astra - a German channel on Canal + Digital channel number 324 You'll have to ask the bar owners if they have Canal +
