anfieldgaz Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 (edited) For England???? Iam Welsh, so as far as England are conserned I am not that botherd, but whan it comes to one of our own i have a vested intrest. So on form both He(Carra) and Terry should be the firsrt choice come Germany!! But why not????? Am i missing something here or not? I mean Campbell.......we all know about him this season. Ferdinand....imo overated but Sven seeams to place both these above our Carra.. I for one am totally bemused by it. Comments please. Edited April 20, 2006 by anfieldgaz
Rory Fitzgerald Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 There is a distinct lack of pace and international experience in a partnership of Terry and Carra. I agree that they are the best in the Premiership at the moment but I can understand why they dont play together at the heart of the defence. Let me state for the record that I am no fan of Rio Ferdinand either !

Let me state for the record that I am no fan of Rio Ferdinand either ! ok ill go along with the pace thing. But lets be honest both Carra and Hyypia dont possses much of that, but in Europe those two are unbeatable I dont see alot of other world players with too much pace, they all posses a lot of skill but not much pace about them, and in thew world cup i cant see anyone else comming out of the blocks too quick to worry carra and terry!

I would counter that and say that the work that Rafa Benitez puts into defending and that plonker SGE do - are worlds apart ! Actually, I would love to know what kind of coaching those guys actually get from Eriksson !
Ostrich Man Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 but Sven seeams to place both these above our Carra.. theres your answer. plus he picks his team based on what the media says.
Elisha_Scott Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 I think Ferdinand and Terry is the better partnership, particularly when it comes to a world cup, like it or not, Rio Ferdinand is a better player than Carra. I wouldn't swap him, but I can see why, in the world cup, when it comes to the crunch, Ferdinand will play. He, like most of them, is a big stage performer. His best is better than Carra's.
Guest The Defender Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Why not play Ferdinand and Terry at CB.. and play Carra a right back.. He's better than Neville... Also i prefer Carra at LB if Cole cant make it..

They will have Robinson behind them, who is slow as a tank, off his line, and across the ground

Big G Superhero Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Too right ^ As importantly, if defending was the army, Ferdinand would have been court-martialled for cowardice in the line of fire by General Carragher long ago...
