anny road Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 the reaction of the players at away games at the final whistle Against WBA and Blackburn, they applauded the fans from the half way line and trudged off, same at WBA....even the most responsive like Carra barely came over..... I saw the United players after the Spurs game and they were right over...Gary Neville was blowing kisses ffs!! I know its a small thing and doesnt really matter, but I think the players should come over more and respond to the fans who travel the length and breadth of the country supporting them thats all
L19red Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 (edited) thats ok as long as they come over and applaud us in Cardiff with a jug eared ailver cup. Edited April 20, 2006 by L19red

Friedel done more than any of our players (Apart from carnage) the other day Edited April 20, 2006 by CarraLegend
anny road Posted April 20, 2006 Author Posted April 20, 2006 as long as they come over and applaud us in Cardiff mmm thats part of the problem I was trying to think of the last time they came over as a group and I can think of Goodision Aye was talking about that the other day, I know they've just played a 90minute game but walking 50 extra yards wouldnt hurt. Friedel done more than any of our others players (Apart from carnage) the other day aye..to be fair to Cisse he does come right up
Guz Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 A rawk poster wrote to Rick parry after Benfica away to complain about the attitude in barely acknowledging us after the game. She got a reply - don't have the full gist of it right now, but he said he would speak to rafa about it. Noticed after the Derby that Rafa pulled a player or two back and encouraged them to applaud us afterwards Garcia definitley. Rafa seemed to get drawn into it all surprisingly. I dunno. For people who were there - wasnt David Moores the last guy off teh pitch last year in Monaco to applaud the fans even though we lost 1-0? He got a lot of respect for that I think. Little things like that DO help the relationship between fans and players.
Guest Ant Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Thats a bit of a piccy issue Dave, you're worse then My Dad

It wasn't quite like that - Moores had to cross the pitch to go down the tunnel quite a while after everyone else had left the pitch. He got a good ovation and repaid with a few waves, smiles and acknowledgments.
Guest Kev Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Thats a bit of a piccy issue Dave, you're worse then My Dad I agree with him By walking closer to the fans it means that they get off the pitch at most 5 minutes later than normal. A very small price to pay for sending thousands of fans home even happier and feeling appreciated.
anny road Posted April 20, 2006 Author Posted April 20, 2006 they should come over, win lose or draw the mancs do it at most games that I see on the tele
Cobs Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 I think there should be a draw each game where each player picks the name of a season ticket holder and pays for their ticket for that game. They could easily afford it and it might be a nice reminder as to who pays their wages, what say you all - good idea or should i go have another drink?

Even Dream Team couldn't even come up with that one. Go and have a drink
