HAPPY SLAPPER SLAPPED BACK!

Phone attack victim's revenge

By Paul Byrne

THESE amazing pictures capture the moment a happy-slap victim slapped back - and floored his startled attacker.

The heart-warming sequence shows how the mobile phone camera prank backfired on a young thug.

First the athletically-built yob - filmed by a friend - is seen explaining exactly what he is going to do.

He sniggers as he tells his accomplice, who is holding the phone: "Tonight, Matthew, I'm going to be... the Happy Slapper."

Then, as they gee themselves up outside a shopping arcade, the sidekick says: "OK, the next person who comes out."

The slapper, in a white vest, excitedly replies: "Which hand? I'll give him both. A double, he's getting a f***ing right slap. All right, let's have it."

Then an innocent shopper walks out wearing a leather jacket and with a bag slung over his shoulder.

The young bully approaches the slightly smaller man - and whacks him hard across the face, causing him to recoil in agony and drop his bag. But as the slapper saunters back to his laughing friend, the victim -who has a Liverpool accent -screams an obscenity and comes after him.

He strides up and delivers a ferocious right-hook that leaves his attacker flat out on the pavement.

The slap "victim" then picks up his bag and calmly strolls away muttering to himself. Footage of the incident - in Southport, Merseyside - has spread like wildfire after ending up on the mobile phone camera network.

It is believed that the revenge attack was never reported to police.

But one phone user who has watched the clip said yesterday: "It's great that one of these idiots finally got what's coming. He doesn't look a very happy slapper at all."
