Ian Mc Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Sami has been magnificent for the past few months, guy is a rock and makes very few mistakes. Though Carra was again immense ... he was my MOTM today.
Clay Davis Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 (edited) what would you say if someone was to say that Hyypia has even better than Carra this season albeit with a few bad games. not my opinion, but i've heard it. Edited April 16, 2006 by calamitymaud
Mike Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 sammi hyypia is one of liverpools greatest ever players.
stressederic Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 I hope he gets a testimonial before he retires.
Gunga Din Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 sammi hyypia is one of liverpools greatest ever players. i agree with that, a legend in every sense
Fagan Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 sammi hyypia is one of liverpools greatest ever players. noone can argue with that statement
dorgie Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 sammi hyypia is one of liverpools greatest ever players. that's certainly no overstatement. He's so Alan Hansen.
Paul_LFC Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Another reason for wanting to win the league title so much is to see players like Sami, Didi, Carra, Stevie win the league to basically complete their collection. Especially for Sami and Didi as their getting on, and it would make it even sweeter as they deserve it so much. Sami was my MOTM today, just alongside Momo.
Guest Bernie Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 really have been very impressed with him again. Will we ever look as commanding dealing with long ball teams when he's not around. Not only is he so tall, but incredibly strong. As a stiker, you just can't set yourself to beat him. I've seen very few target men get the better o him consistently in any game. Shearer has struggled, Ferguson has had little joy. Can anyone think of anyone that has beaten him to the first ball on a regular basis over the years?

I saw Smith take him and Henchoz apart and drogba do the same a few days later but that's it. Johnson mudered him on the ground last year but you'd expect that every so often. i've never seen anyone regularly best him
Benzo-13 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 i agree with that, a legend in every sense So is... IMHO the best defender in the league..
Maldini Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I have to admit doubting him last season, but he's been immense this season. Back to his very best.
owenthomas Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 he's a fkin legend.. i remember when we signed him and, first game of the season, Graeme Sharp was co-commentating on a blueschite match and the commentator mentioned that he (Sharp) had brought Hyppia over for a trial while he was managing Oldham(?).. he asked Sharp what he thought of him/why he didn't sign him and he said he'd never cut it in the Premiership, he's very surprised that Liverpool have signed him, Liverpool have a big problem in defence and he's not the answer to it blah blah blah.. you couldn't be more wrong.. typical..
Ste M Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 what would you say if someone was to say that Hyypia has even better than Carra this season albeit with a few bad games. not my opinion, but i've heard it. I've made that point on another site. IMO he's been the best centre back in the division this year, nobody has been as good as he has. Not bad for a 33 year old whose legs are going.
Ste M Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 How many games has he played for us now? 367 at the last count, scoring 26 goals.
Jim D Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Definitely an Anfield legend. This club has had alot of great defenders in its time, which isn't an easy thing to follow. Sami deserves to be up there with the likes of Yeats, Smith, Hansen, Thompson etc. Very good at scoring goals on the volley as well, better than the strikers we've had recently.
Foo Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Just the one, against United at Old Trafford after about 2 minutes. Ah yea, I forgot that one, slightly dubious if you ask me.
anfieldgaz Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Hyypia is the one and only world class sigining GH made and i thank him for that! The Guy is just unstoppable and him and Carra are the best centre half partnership in Europe, end off.
