I mentioned it in the match thread I'll have you know Kevan :hmm:

He bear-hugged him to the ground, thought it was a peno meself.

It's to long, got bored at page 1 - post 1. ;)

Nelson wrestled Nando to the ground in the first half, Paul Wellens would have been proud of that tackle.

I was screaming for a pen. Am I alone ?

No, I agree mate. Gray's claim that Nelson just stood his ground - as he isn't obligated to move - would have been spot on, if it wasn't for the fact his arms went around Nando and he pulled him down.

Very poor officiating, all round today.

And the fact that he's not entitled to just stand there, it's obstruction.

Definite penalty, the excuse by Gray was just laughable. Later on in the game a free kick was given against Alonso after he had the ball played past him. The Blackburn player just ran into Alonso, Gray said that was blatant obstruction, so he wasn't allowed to stand his ground Andy? Can't have it both ways, he was willing for Blackburn to score all game, it was embarrassing.

He doesn't have to get out of the way for an oncoming striker.

He made no attempt to play the ball, it's obstruction to just stand your ground and let yourself be hit

no way was that a penalty. Bloody ridiculous game if you start trying to claim those.

So a rugby tackle on a player isn't a foul? I think most people on here aren't complaining that the defender "stood his ground" it was due to the defender putting his arms around Morientes and tackling him to the floor, which a rugby player would be proud of. Certainly a case of the defender not playing the ball in this instance but clearly playing the man.

It was a blatant pen. I watched it on ART Sports and Ian Darke and Gary O'Riley were saying that they'd "seen them given". It was a pen, he pulled him to the ground, they showed it from three different angles and it was a stonewall pen.

I used to play rugby and I wouldn't have been proud of a girly tackle like that.

Still a pen, mind.

Morinetes ran straight into him forcing him backwards there wasn;t any chance to get out of the way.

Not a penalty in a million years. Would've been absolutely fuming if that was given as one against us.

Spot on. Morientes turned and ran straight into him.

Ref was very inconsistent. A good decision like that but when he blew up for the foul to caution Momo after playing advantage and allowing Blackburn to put a couple of passes togather - wtf ?

The assistant on the right was woeful.
