Gomez Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Gray dropped all pretence of impartiality today. Pretty pathetic. "I could play in goal for Liverpool" FFS. Best. Keeper. In. England.
Swipe Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Luckiest Footballer. EVER. His clone, Frank Lampard Jr, runs him a close second..
Ombudsam Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Gray dropped all pretence of impartiality today. Pretty pathetic. "I could play in goal for Liverpool" FFS. Best. Keeper. In. England. I preferred to listen to what he went on about for the 5 minutes after that the reason he could was because our defence is so so so good. But I don't love being wound up and i don't think Gray thinks he could play in goal for us.
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Gray is a cvnt, there's nothing new there. His spiteful littel digs are the result of years of bitterness. In the end it's just all hogwash, especially his criticism of our defenc\sive record which is beyond reproach. However Martin Tyler is a cut above the rest, a true gentleman and fan of football in the traditional sense. Not to mention he has gone on public record stating his great admiration for Liverpool and the way the reds play the game and our traditions.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Martin Tyler is the best commentator by far! I wish it was him doing the sky sports commentary in istanbul.
abc Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Martin Tyler is the best commentator by far! I wish it was him doing the sky sports commentary in istanbul. He did it for us down here in Australia...
Swipe Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Martin Tyler is the best commentator by far! I wish it was him doing the sky sports commentary in istanbul. I've noticed he is no longer Sky's number one commentator. He's still the best, but he's no longer first choice for all the big games, like he used to be.
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 (edited) I've noticed he is no longer Sky's number one commentator. He's still the best, but he's no longer first choice for all the big games, like he used to be. from wikipedia: In recent years Sky have employed a rotation policy and Tyler no longer gets the amount of 'big' games he used to get (2005 Champions League final for example). He remains though a terrific broadcaster. He regularly calls Saturday English Premier League matches for TWI's International Feed, which are then shown later on Sky Sports' "Football First" programme. He also does some commentaries exclusive to the international audience, such as Monday Night Football, where Sky Sports will employ a different commentator. He did do the CL final for Fox Sports in Aus, which is what Sky is to the brits. Edited April 16, 2006 by AnfieldGrass

Swipe Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Apparently his voice isn't "exciting" enough Really? So they drafted in a boxing commentator with a lisp! Tyler is still defo the best.
floyd Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 So they drafted in a boxing commentator with a lisp! Now, Darke really is shyte.
Swipe Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Now, Darke really is shyte. It's really obvious Gray doesn't like him, too.
Maldini Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Apparently it was because his voice wasn't exciting enough yeah.
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Apparently it was because his voice wasn't exciting enough yeah. If that's true then sky are being specious, because his voice is one of the most well known in the footballing world.
berdoing Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Ian Darke is brilliant! What are you all on about? He gives the game a sense of occasion, of being an event!
Paul_LFC Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Darke should go back to counting how many times Bruno got knocked out by the Calcium Kid.
anny road Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 the goal Having seen it again......I a not sure the linesman can see Ciosse making a move towards the ball...from the side he wouldn't have a view of it If he thinks that Cisse has just stood there and let the ball through then he gave (in his mind) the right decision
RP Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 the goal Having seen it again......I a not sure the linesman can see Ciosse making a move towards the ball...from the side he wouldn't have a view of it If he thinks that Cisse has just stood there and let the ball through then he gave (in his mind) the right decision I agree with that - except the linesman said that he saw Cisse pull his leg away from the ball. So he is claiming he saw him move towards the ball and then away from it - which I'd say is unlikely.

RP Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 i say he is lying I agree. But he's still a good bloke
owenthomas Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 He did it for us down here in Australia... i too wish i'd have heard Tyler commentating for the European Cup Final - if you, or any fellow Oz reds can get me a copy of the game with that commentary i would be eternally grateful!!
Dan Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Unfortunately, the reason why Tyler has been dropped for much of the big games these days is because of that c*nt Gray and the infamous "ya beauty" incident. Apparently Tyler talked over Gray when he was supposed to let him speak, Gray got the hump and kicked off. Tyler went to the bosses to complain and they told Tyler to f*ck off as Gray is their biggest asset. Sounds petty i know but this comes from one of the head cameramen at Sky for the games. Apparently Gray is a right w*anker (no surprises there) and Tyler is a nice enough bloke but a bit odd. Tomlinson is a filth bag.
floyd Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 (edited) Tomlinson is a filth bag.You cannot leave that their, without adding substance too the statement. It's the law.Leave out the Robbo stuff, everyone knows that. Edited April 17, 2006 by floyd
