Sion Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Alonso is England's Gerrard with Lampard. When Lampard doesn't play for England; Gerrard = Better When Gerrard doesn't play for Liverpoool; Xabi = Better I'm not saying they don't work together, but Xabi thrives on the responsibility when SG ain't playing.
Clay Davis Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 yes agreed Djibs has improved, but is it too late ? Much too late. Great shame.

According to Sky, Xabi is 'over awed' by Gerrard. Even my wife said Xabi is the most under-awed player she's seen.
floyd Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Thought Momo is looking more and more comfortable on the ball. Few good runs today. This beast next season is going awesome.
Knox_Harrington Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Cisse was woeful. Effective in that he pinned them back and CAN RUN DEAD FAST but when in possession of the football he makes the wrong choice with almost perverse regularity.
Ombudsam Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 and thats another thing i thought! It's the easy choice innit, Xabi and his good English, or Momo, with errr not so good English. And with Robbie translating, it'd been something else. I like how Xabi got a 'possibilities' and a 'sure why not' into his interivew. He is the apprentice we should get gary neville in as he used to translate for ronaldo wonderfully "do you think you played well?"
Mike Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 how about the shouts in the stands, the calls for him to be sold indefinitely AND the posts on the internet forum that represent a cross section of liverpool fans? LOL. like with harry kewell you mean.sorry, the world he lives in is not affected by the swings and arrows of outrageous posting.
Ombudsam Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 yes agreed Djibs has improved, but is it too late ? it's not that the improvement is too late it's that its so short of what is needed. He did things for us today that others can't. We need to get someone who can do them well regularly. Hopefully this Gonzalez kid
Mike Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 like with harry kewell you mean.sorry, the world he lives in is not affected by the swings and arrows of outrageous posting. slings, i meant slings FFS.

Clay Davis Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 like with harry kewell you mean.sorry, the world he lives in is not affected by the swings and arrows of outrageous posting. thats true.
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 slings, i meant slings FFS. an outrageous misquote.

Kite Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Watching that today I thought we played with ten men plus half a player running down the right. Cisse played with some decent spirit today, at times, but he just doesn't have enough quality about this game.
pjwy Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Cisse was actually quite effective aside from poor finishing, looked sharper int he centre, so 7 is about right. Sissoko MOM but had lots of competition esp from Carra and Sami. Well said mate! A guy stood next to me today at Ewood berated Cisse all the game long but for me,Cisse was the only player on our side with any real pace and this caused endless problems for Blackburn's defence. He should have done better with those two chances but in saying that, who else would have got to the ball in those situations anyway? I'd have definitely marked him at least a 'seven'.
dorgie Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Thought Hyypia or Carra were our Men of the Match. I'm with ya there. They were immense.

Spike Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 THey choose a home player as he has to go into the exec suites later on to do awards and raffle winners presentations.

'Cisse was better than Moro' waaaaaaaa 'If you give Cisse 3, then Moro was 2.5' waaaaaaaaa For fec sakes! Anyway, as for that Rafa - favoritism giving Cisse the start today, what do ya think? its always the same Its even coming in with "Momo was MOM not Xabi..people are getting caught with his hype" Why the f*** we cant be happy to have two midfielders like them I dont know
