There are quite a few round Warrington - Walton is the best municipal I know of - but plenty of others - Chorlton in Manchester is a belting course where you can pay and play.

 

Altrincham, Antrobus, Tarpoley, Bold Heath (though that's a bit flat) are all good.

 

Shrigley Hall near Macclesfield is fantastic.

 

Widnes and St.Helens munis are pretty poor.
