See? He is clearly talking bollx. He's clearly spoken to Palletta and I can't believe he's not spoken to Aurelio, and probably indirectly to either Kuyt or Owen or whoever. That article claims qualifying for next season's champions league will put £10 million on Rafa's budget. Its never worked like that has it ?

 

I thought we only spend what we've earned during the season gone. So this close season's budget will be swelled by the bonuses we earned for winning in Istanbul and for finishing 3rd in the league.

We will spend over £30m this Summer and that will include any money raised from sales.

 

We will buy 1 top class RW, Pennant, SWP, joaquin quality.

 

We will buy 1 top quality striker, Owen, Kuyt, Torres quality.

 

We will buy 1 young striker, Bent, Defoe etc.

 

We will 'swap' a few players round, Paletta and aurelio in - Traore, Warnock out that kind of thing.

No we're always spending based on what's coming in, every club does that. Hence when people talked about us winning 20m in the CL, 10m of that was spent pre-season on the likes of Alonso, Garcia etc and more on Morientes in the January window.

There is always a risk of going out in the qualifier and if we've spent the £10 million then presumably we'd extend our debt ?

It's a risk you take and then deal with it later if it all goes t*** up at the qualifier stage.
