What a fecking balls up the FA have made of this again (surprise, surprise0>

What a choice. Allardyce, Curbishley, McLaren or O'Neill. Just having them in the frame is incredible enough.

Of al the managers in the world and we look like we're getting one of them?? May as well have thrown Redknapp into the hat as well.

I can't believe they let Hiddink slip through the net. Proven track record at both international and club level, experienced. Nah, he's not good enough, we'll have that useless t*** McLaren instead.

They still stagger me with their inefficiency, even after all these years.

hiddink apparently didn't want the press intrusion that goes with it.

makes me laugh that stuart pearce is linked while alan pardew isn't. presumably because pearce played for england and has tattoos.

also, when the bbc were discussing the curbishley / mclaren debate last night and who is the better english manager, there's an english manager sitting there whose team are waiting for curbishley or mclaren in the semi-finals of the cup already and whose team is comfortably above them both in the league, alan pardew again.

total and utter farce the whole thing is.

and Allardyce's team are above all of them but i don't want that fat cn*t near the job

I'd love Fat Sam to get it, but I think it's between O'Neill and McLaren. If the former refuses it (and I think he'll be offered the job), it'll go to the latter and the spin will be that it's in the interests of 'continuity'.

Give it to big Phil

That'd be my choice. Someone with a PROVEN track record and not just someone who keeps his team from being relegated every year. I think his English is poor though isn't it?

Hiddink was pi33ed off that the FA wanted him to talk to them before they decided whether or not he should even be on the short list. Clowns. :clown:

If McLaren wins the UEFA Cup and (God forbid) the FA Cup this season then i think they have to give it to him.

Wasnt the point of making him Sven's No.2 all about grooming him for the role anyway?

With a face like his there's not much chance of shagging scandals around Soho sq either.

No worse than Allardyce or Pearce.

His managerial career at Boro has floundered since then though, the last couple of weeks withstanding.

As for the teams he's played in the FA Cup, yesterday was the first time they've beaten a PL team in the cup since 2002, and the teams he's beaten in UEFA Cup are hardly Barcelona standard are they.

well, if he's stropped off to Russia cos of the FA's incompetence over the interview process then he was never gonna last long if he got the job anyway

well he won a trophy at Boro - their only one ever

as for the standard of their opponents in the UEFA, - Roma, Basel - they are no mugs, before the start of this season i think you'd say they were say, Villareal standard, no?

They should have moved heaven and earth to get Hiddink. He's an outstanding international manager and wouldn't take any s*** off the celebrities that work Sven like a puppet.

No I wouldn't. I saw Roma play last season against relegation bound Brescia in Rome and they were God awaful. Appalling.

bet you would :bleh: - WTF does 1 game you saw prove? We lost to relegation bound Southampton last year, we were God awful, Appaling & then won the European Cup......

this season Boro beat Man U 4-1, lost to Arsenal 7-0, then played Chelsea and beat them 3-0

I wouldn't bank on that. Even Caruso pulled after the Fulham game, for every gimp there's a bird wants to mother him.

surprised nobody on here is on the shortlist. All it would take is a few posts of theirs printed out from after we'd lost a game alongside their contribution to at least 5 formation threads and they'd be a shoe-in :D

McClaren, who looks now like the favourite for the "best job in the world", was after the home game against Villa, were they got beat 4-0, and that fan ran on the pitch and threw his ticket at him, was a 1000/1 to get the job then. If only........

He wouldnt of been anywhere near 1000/1, he might of gone out to 60s (If that) or something but thats probably about as far as it'd of gone.

If McLaren gets it, England is doomed. They might be marginally better off with Curbs or Fat Sam, but neither of them have what it takes to make England great. O'Neil is the best man for the job from the selected candidates.

The FA should ask themselves:

"Will this man win England the world cup"

If the answer is no, that should be the end of it.

McClaren, Alladyce, Pearce, Curbishley and in all honesty, O'Neill, all fail to answer that question possitively.

cos sven's a right looker.

O'neill or scolari for me out of the realistic names
