Noticed rooney ripped his off last night.

And yet in the past he's always been so sensitive with regards to people's feelings about Hillsborough...

If he did rip it off (and there seems to be some debate as to whether he did) then that just adds to the slightly uncomfortable feeling that I have over this whole idea of other clubs wearing (or seemingly being told to wear) the armbands. Like it or not, it isn't going to mean as much to some others as it does to us so things like this will be bound to happen and people will be bound to get upset. To some it won't mean anything at all and they'll just be paying lip service to it all whilst at the same time being more than happy to take the S*n's money.

Nice idea, well-intentioned but not something I really agree with. The justice campaign is something that IS relevant to all clubs and fans but the armbands have nothing to do with that . They are a way of remembering the dead irrespective of any justice campaign and that is for us to do. If others choose to do it as well then good on them, but many people will probably feel that this has been imposed on them a bit.

I'm not even remotely saying that WE should stop remembering Hillsborough or stop campaigning for justice and if this all helps to keep it in the public consciousness then that is a good thing. There are just aspects of it that I'm not sure about.

I'll say it again, Rooney never ripped it off.

Fair enough if so, the other poster seemed adamant that he did. Likewise, you said Neville wasn't but someone else says he was.

My main point still stands - if people have chosen to do this and the idea has come from other clubs themselves then that is a good thing. If it has been imposed on them to some degree than I'm personally not sure that it means anything.

But anyway, f*** it, today of all days is not the time to be having a philosophical debate about it. People are wearing them, end of, and those who are wearing them because they do give a s*** get a big thanks from me.

Rooney DID NOT rip off the armband.

One of the elastic tags had become detached and that is what he ripped off immediately before taking that corner.

Gary Neville WAS wearing the armband. He wore it on his right arm because he was wearing the captain's armband on the left.

I am no supporter or apologist for either men but fair's fair.

nowhere is as far as I'm aware Dave apart from us tomorrow (Everton maybe?). Think the armbands are an appropriate response myself.

i agree...i was just crious thats all mate

I think the armbands are a great gesture and fair f***s to the United lads for keeping them on ...they are b******s to play in and it would be easy to get rid of

Rooney's is upside down so either he took it off and put it back on again upside down or is just too dense to put it on right to begin with ;)

it probably looked the right way up to him as he was putting it on......

As did Sam Allardyce. In fact, I think everyone in the Bolton dug-out had them on.

Obviously, I believe that is due to Sammy Lee
