Yes, and they would merely show us the facts.

Uriah Rennie says they don't discuss individual players who dive as it would mean they go into a match with preconceived ideas :pinocchio:

Another interesting snippet from Poll :

He says that phone ins are filled with people demanding they watch A-List players and don't want them suspended, watching the game from the stands. " We don't pay good money to watch reserves " and so Poll goes on to say they have to ' balance ' that out and manage games credibly.

Seems to me that Poll might not caution someone like Rooney where he would caution someone like, say, Kilbane.

Poll again - he says that only one player ( Baros ) has been booked more than once for diving. It's a perception that some players dive persistently  and that it's a perception because some players might go over easier than others or draw contact easier.

Beautiful stuff, Graham. He seems very concerned about his image and how fans and players look at him, saying that he could caution every player that harasses him or is guilty of dissent but then people would think he's a ****.

You can't help coming to the conclusion that they should sweep these referees all aside and start afresh with referees trained to do their job with the assistance of technology.

Too much attention is paid in the media to what these idots think about their job. The rules of football are in the main very straightforward so it doesn't need all that much analysis. the problems arise when the referees are too thick to have noticed what went on. Thats why we need technology.

I agree with that but i can also sympathise with officials these days - mainly the assistants. They have to watch for shirt pulling etc and at the same time determine - from ground level and sometimes 30 yards away from the action - if someone is active or inactive.

It's ridiculous.

Too many grey areas in football today. Offside should be offside - end of.

Also, i had some sympathy for Styles a few weeks ago when he dismissed Distin. He asked him to go away a few times and in the end, it's a caution. Distin had every chance to avoid that booking, just as Gerrard did for his first against Everton.

Seems petty but you have people like Andy Gray asking for the letter of the law in one match and then for some " give " in the next match.

Andy Gray must be stopped.
