Didnt Rafa mention something to the effect that Robbie'd only be benefitting from the fitness regime fully next season? To me that is indication enough that he'd be given a permanent deal, what with reports from all quarters stating that Rafa's pleased to see him working his a*** off and making good progress.

Agreed. I love Robbie as much as anyone on here but if you gave him a 2 year contract now he may think he's done the hard work already and slip backwards again.

 

With a one year deal with an option of a second year, he'll knuckle down and continue to reap the benefits of Pako's hard work with him and give us the great striking option we all hope he can be next season and maybe beyond.
