Guest Red Mist Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Why does he want to hide from us? Such an ungrateful git. It pleases me that this traitor won sweet FA while in Spain while we were kings of Europe. I'm more pleased that we are now a recognised superpower of world football once more whereas Owen is at a club that is recognised for being s***.Don't go to Aintree, stay and watch whatever races they have in and around Newcastle!
Earl Hafler Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 It features a video diary shot by himself ( he was in the car on the way to training a week or two ago ). " The flat season starts soon and I can't wait " Glad he knows what he's talking about
liverbird04 Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 sounds like a bit of wimp ,is he going getting chased benny hill style all round aintree ,bloody hell I would pay to see that.
Barnesy_10 Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 was just reading it myself... and was about to post it then found this thread.... a highlight from the Xabi one: Liverpool is club that's steeped in history, it has a really strong sense of identity. People are always talking about the club's history, all the glorious nights at Anfield, and former players still have an important presence. They attend functions at the club and many of them have a voice in the media, which means you're constantly reminded of what Liverpool's all about. That doesn't put pressure on you but it certainly does make you aware of what this club represents. a highlight from the Owen blog: When I'm driving in the car with my daughter Gemma, it's like: "Three little ducks went swimming one day, over the hills and far away. Mummy duck said 'Quack! Quack! Quack!' and only two little ducks came back." I know EVERY word to every song for kids! We're listening to the ark one at the moment, where the hippopotamus gets stuck in the door. "The animals went in four by four, and the hippopotamus got stuck in the door, and they all went into the ark ? " Gemma laughs her head off every time the hippo gets stuck: "It's his big bum-bum!"

RP Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 But he will be watching the National from a private box at Aintree.
jimmylibel Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I'm looking forward to the Grand National this weekend, but I won?t actually be going to Aintree. When I go, I tend to get loads of Liverpool fans coming up to me saying: "Why did you do this? Why did you do that? You shouldn?t have left ? " and so on and so on. I could hide away in a private box, I suppose, but if I'm going to do that I might as well hide away in my living room and watch it on the telly. Also, although I enjoy the jump season and have been to Cheltenham and Aintree several times, I'm more into flat racing. The horses I own and breed are all flat horses and that's my real passion, rather than the steeplechases. The flat season starts soon and I can't wait. That said, I will certainly be watching the Grand National and, like everyone else, I'll try to pick out a winner. I don?t often bet on the National, mind you: it's far too difficult to predict who is going to win because anything can happen at Aintree. I would like to see Tony McCoy win it for the first time - that would be nice. And it would also be nice to see the bookmakers lose for once, haha! http://spaces.msn.com/worldcup-uk/ Em - just as a matter of interest, hasn't there only been one Grand National since he left? When he was in Spain like?
Bootle Buck Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 (edited) "Instead I will stay in Newcastle and watch the National amongst my adoring fat and bare bellied fans. Me and Big Al will put a bet on and Gemma will sing Blaydon Races in a little duck voice. Of course I will be wearing my new England shirt and leave my Welsh Rugby shirt at home."
