Stanley Leisure Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Top fella - what a great gesture. Hopefully it will help and get him home soon.
Guest Kev Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Bolton's official site have picked it up. You have to register to read it. WANDERERS' GREEK star Stelios is assisting in the search of a young man who went missing in Crete last year whilst on holiday with his friends. Stelios will make a plea on Greek Television asking for help from his fellow countrymen to locate Steven Cook now 21, who went missing at the beginning of his holiday back in September 2005. The appeal will also be shown on BBC North West tonight. Despite several visits to the island by members of his family, and appearances on local and Greek Television there has been no confirmed sightings of Steven. It is hoped that an appeal by such a highly recognised and respected footballer will help highlight Steven's case as the holiday season begins. Stelios explains: "Steven is very much missed by his family and friends who want nothing more than for Steven to return home safely so they can get on with their lives once more. I am asking that if you saw anything suspicious in Malia on the night he disappeared or if you have seen snyone matching Steve's description then please contact one of the following numbers or e mails addresses. Your help is needed." Just spoke to Chris. His parents couldn't praise Stelios enough, they said that he told them he will do anything in his power to help them and gave them his contact numbers. Stelios has given all the family a tremendous boost today. Please ensure he gets a good reception on Sunday.
cymrococh Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Just been on the local lunchtime news. Someone tell Chris that the camera does add a few pounds How many cameras were on him?

Boca Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 What kind of reception did he get yesterday? Couldn't make it out on the box.
Guest Kev Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 What kind of reception did he get yesterday? Couldn't make it out on the box. I watched when Stelios took a few corners and there appeared to be several fans applauding him in the Kop. When he went through one on one with Reina, part of me wouldn't have begrudged him a goal.

One of the people they have got to know in Crete has just called saying it's all over the media there and they're running quite lengthy features on it - national news as well as Cretian tv.
