Andy @ Allerton Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 At 33 still a very classy player - worth a shout if we could get him cheap? Maybe swap him for someone with pace - Cisse or Pongy?
Swipe Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Has anyone contacted Juve and told them about this deal?
difs.oner Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 How about Ronaldinho he looks class? If we could only swap him for Traore or Cheyrou
CaptainXabi Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 I dunno, after the Zebina + 20M Euro for Stevie G story, I think offering Juve Traore for Nedved would be fitting.
Miracle@Istanbul Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Nedved should go to Boro or one of those teams because he is past it. He was poor against Arsenal the other night, I know he was returning from a few games out but he got caught offside 6 times, only Diouf has been caught offside from midfield more than that i'm sure. He didn't do much against us last year either. Even as a squad player its hard to see much of a role for him so long as Stevie was fit, I really don't like the idea of having to watch his mullet running up and down the touchline while he warms up with the rest of the subs each week.

That's a bit ridiculous stating he 'got caught offside 6 times' - if you'd watched the game - he was offside once - he'd timed the other runs perfectly - but his teammates were offside - which he then got flagged for.
Leo No.8 Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 I personally thought Nedved was one of the better Juve players the other night until his stupid sending off; at least he showed some desire and a flash of brilliance with his shot in the second half. The front two were far worse, hardly even looking interested. I just couldn't see Nedved coming here now, at this stage of his career. His wages would be astronomical and would probably discount it. However if he did I still think he has the quality to have a big impact for a year or two. Sadly, I remember we were very strongly linked to him after Euro 96, until he eventually went to Lazio. If only we'd got him then...

I really hope you're not basing the statement that 'Nedved is past it' on the basis of 2 seperate games over a span of 2 years.

Guest Makaveli Smith Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 He's finished.. Juve only got 2yrs outta him after his Lazio career which he was outstanding. He'll go to Slavia or Sparta Prague in the summer. have to disagree with you, I tihnk he has quite a bit left in the tank. he's so not finished
matty Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Nedved can f*** right off. He's a stupid ugly little nobhead. Past his best and was actually s*** on Wednesday night. One decent shot, and then just kicked and dived his way to a red card. If any Liverpool player did what he did on Wednesday I'd be thoroughly ashamed. C8nt of the highest order.
Swipe Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 The technique for his volley was outstanding, but apart from that I thought he was very very ordinary. Not as anonymous as he was at Highbury in the First Leg though, thought he might as well have not been on the pitch for that game.

Koller49 Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 One year I reckon.. He hasn't been the same this season. The other night was a man frustrated by not being able to do things he once could. From what I've heard he's been really good in the league this year for Juve... Wasn't great against Arsenal though, but any flashes Juve did have seemed to come through him. Wouldn't say he's past it, not as good as he was maybe, but the value of having players like him in your team is invaluable. And Leo, your not the only one that wanted the Czechs to win Euro 96 - I had £2! on them to win it which my dad put on for me at the start of the tourney (I was only 9 years old) - Kinda followed the Czechs ever since though...
Earl Hafler Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Arguably the best player in the world a few seasons ago but i think we should be looking at younger players. Zidane's decline is there for all to see and i think Nedved is going the same way.
