He's being slagged off by half the Betis fans for his comments - the other half love it as they think it's all a ploy to take attention away from the fact that their hated city rivals, Sevilla CF, are about to play the return leg of their UEFA quarter-finals against Zenit at 18.00 CET.

Sevilla are 4-1 up after the game in Sanchez Pijuan and if they reach the semis they will be the first Sevillian team to do so - much to the chargrin of the Beticos

personally I think he's left it too late - but it may also tie in with the fact that Madrid are planning their team for next season and have made no effort to conceal the fact that they would snatch him up at a reduced price

Personally, think he's overrated from the number of games I have watched over the years.

He has a lot of talent, but is very inconsistent. This season he has been woeful at times.

Betis have been very poor, but top players assume responsibility at times like that, not disappear.

Judging from what i've said above, looks like he will fit in really well at Madrid.

I'd have thought the 'Beticos' where still gloating about the fact they have bragging rights till next season now, having beaten Seville in the derby :woohoo:

They have no need to be chargrinning, after all, Betis are the last Seville team to have won something. Double :woohoo:

And lets be honest, winning something is far better than gloating about being in a semi final.

Then you should be here now...the derby is well forgotten by the red half of the city - concentrating on making history tonight

unless Seville implode - highly likely as I'm watching it snow now in St Petersburg and the pitch is a bog...

Juande has also complicated matters by slotting in Aitor Ocio (a CB) at right back and moving Alves up into the midfield

The Sevilla fans have planned a celebratory march across the city after the game - tease the green slime etc...after a summer of taunts about not qualifying for the CL they want to rub it in...

As for the final long way off - if Sevilla get through tonight it looks like it wiil be Schalke 04 up next - probably the best team left in the competition according to the Spanish sports press

As for the plastic cup that Lopera's mob won when was it? ;) Sevilla fans revel in the fact that they first time Betis won the cup in 1977 they went down too
