Gunga Din Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 lol. another good laugh is checking out Garth Crooks team of the week on the beeb website. the only Liverpool player in it is riise. obviously watching a different game to everyone else, as Gera ripped riise to bits in the second half
Earl Hafler Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I thought he had a bad game, along with Crouch. Kewell lost the ball many times and rarely took anyone on. Got in behind them in the second half and whacked the ball at Morientes instead of pulling it back into the area where we had one or two players. Not his best game in recent weeks.
ozziecazzie Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Not his best game, but most of our movement was down the right. That's the way the game flows sometimes.I actually thought that he served the ball up to Morientes on a plate.

I agree he was below par with crouch but i would have at least given him a score
Guest Jack Bauer Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Kewell didn't have a bad game, he just sticks to the left. If no one passes to him, there isn't much he can do.
oojason Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Thought Kewell had an ok game - the match was being played out on the right side of our team, esp as Robinson just could not cope with Cisse's movement and pace at right-mid. Kewell tucked in when the ball was lost, and gave width and showed for the ball when the option was there.
Figaro Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 (edited) did Kewell play? depressing to see that "our best player this season" is popping in and out of his 'couldn't get past a wet tissue' mode Cue flak... Edited April 4, 2006 by Figaro

[wasn't a good game by Kewell on saturday FWIW - looks like he may be due a rest]
Guest fender_rhodes Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Kewell tucked in when the ball was lost, and gave width and showed for the ball when the option was there. Yup...was seen running back to help Riise out many times too...
Benitez Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 (edited) did Kewell play? depressing to see that "our best player this season" is popping in and out of his 'couldn't get past a wet tissue' mode Cue flak... cue you being boring more like, with your odd little Kewell hatred. Did he treat you like a Danish King at your BIL's as you where quaffing cruzcampo while sitting on Cruyff's lap? Change the record. Edited April 4, 2006 by Benitez
Leo No.8 Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 I believe Figaro was bitten by a left-winger as a child. This explains his un-natural hatred for the likes of Kewell and Zenden...
Figaro Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 (edited) funny, we didn't hear a peep from you about him after the Derby.....or was Cruyff on holiday last week ? [wasn't a good game by Kewell on saturday FWIW - looks like he may be due a rest] Cruyff wasn't on holiday and he is fine, apart from an ulcer that may be infected. He was sat three seats to my left on Saturday FWIIW but that got nothing to do with you nor your snide remark I wasn't around after the Derby - he had a good game, but one hit and hope does not a summer make...he had been trying without success in previous matches but that particular one didn't threaten the corner flag As I have stated before kewell offers us more options now he is back to being nearly 100% fit - just wish he'd get to the by-line more or at least go past people... In the derby he had a chance sent the defender the wrong way when he was going through the middle but was lost for pace cue you being boring more like, with your odd little Kewell hatred. Did he treat you like a Danish King at your BIL's as you where quaffing cruzcampo while sitting on Cruyff's lap? Change the record. Boring you are with your brain dead absolute tosser reply. Now that's intelligence for you. What a complete dick you are. You have the opportunity to use all the supposed football knowledge you possess to prove that Kewell is back to his very best and is by far and away the best player we have in the first team and what do you do? Says everything we need to know about you. Edited April 4, 2006 by Figaro

I don't get it. I genuinely don't get it. I don't like playing one player off against another, it's pointless as they all play for us but you'd piss off Morientes' dog if he asked you to but kewell who's actually played well gets the same treatment as most give Lampard on here. At least he plays for them. which is fair enough, i even agree with you however, your anti-kewell agenda just makes you sound like you've found out he's been nailing your missus since the start of the season that's exactly how it comes across

cymrococh Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Has anyone on here (even one of the muppets like sammy) said that Kewell has been our best player this season?

Everyone just acknowledges an upturn in form. Who's overwhelmed? Maybe that's why your comments look so out of place because you're not actually engaging with anything which exists outside your own head. When have I been at the other extreme with Kewell and when have i claimed never to criticise anyone. Those issues are irrelevant anyway with regards how you can watch one player perform consistently poorly and praise him and watch another do well and slate him. It's not the logical action of someone supporting the club. I declare you bizarre. Edited April 4, 2006 by sammya

It really wasn't worth going back and editing to add that stream of pompous guff.
yellow jumper Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 i'm a fan, but kewell definitely needs to be kept honest. benitez had a little dig a month or so ago (and left him out for a game or two if i remember straight) and he came back better for it. west brom was exactly the sort of game he likes to cruise through in 1st or 2nd gear. and he did. i can understand the frustrations sometimes. mind you, i think some expect a jinking, buzzing winger, when he's not really that kind of player anymore, if he ever was.
passater Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Kewell is a competent left sided midfielder. Nothing more. He is not the difference making, game changing, match winning player we thought we were getting 3 years ago. He definitely strikes me as exactly the guy Carra had in mind in that interview posted on here yesterday when he said that some players are good at the game but have no interest in it.
