fyds Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Despite what some think, you have to be vigilant about this because it's never far below the surface.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Racist abuse should be met with severe police action - and not just in Germany batons first?
marvinbarcelona Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 (edited) batons first? Oh yes, Mr Baton and his chums at full charge I'd say. Racist abuse should be met with severe police action - and not just in Germany See above. Edited April 4, 2006 by marvinbarcelona
wacko Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Good on the lad. Wish I'd seen it myself. I'm surprised that St. Pauli fans allowed Chemitz fans to get away with that kind of behaviour. St. Pauli is known for its anti-facist and anti-racist fans.
The Hitman Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Despite what some think, you have to be vigilant about this because it's never far below the surface.Gary "We don't have a big problem with racism in this country" Neville, you mean?t***,try telling that to my girlfriend you stupid, ignorant manc. You busy c***. Mr Baton should be introduced along with Mr German Shepherd.
Coyler Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Gary "We don't have a big problem with racism in this country" Neville, you mean?He meant "white millionaires", though.
Ripley Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 is this the same Germany that still doesn;t allow 3rd generations Turks to claim german citizenship? Not true
SkippyjonJones Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Not true maybethats just my "I can read the big print in the media" impression of the situation. whats the story then?
fyds Posted April 4, 2006 Author Posted April 4, 2006 (edited) Do you mean in Germany specifically? Not at all, unfortunately - it's still there in Holland too as well as Spain etc. What I meant was that type of mindset that finds it acceptable - even a sort of perverse cultural 'right' - is still alive and kicking and we shouldn't relax beacuse on the whole things have improved (at least for now) here. Gary "We don't have a big problem with racism in this country" Neville, you mean?t***,try telling that to my girlfriend you stupid, ignorant manc. You busy c***. A fine example indeed. John am Rhein Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 batons first? Batons, water cannons, attack dogs, "robber billets", etc. - you get the general idea.
SteveT Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 From an official source: So not perfect, by any means, but a fair stride forward from the "Blut und Boden" system that you seemed to think still applied. I'd be interested in the official source, as I've been looking for a few reliable sources on this. Also , as far as I'm aware, the "Blut und Boden" idea still applies - hence my above flippant post regarding Russians - This new development was described on one of the sites I read as a "supplement" to the law. But, as you say, definitely a step in the right direction.

Thankfully that particular legal 'philosophy' has gone the way of the last remnants of the Nuremburg laws.
