Well who do we expect to be nominated for player of the year then? Cos in all probability they'll be in the team of the year?

I'd say Gerrard, Rooney and Terry - beyond that I'm stumped.

Young player Rooney, Cesc, Sissoko, Bent and AN Other

Got a feeling Alonso may get himself on that list. Henry as well.

think shay given has been the best keeper in the league considering the team he plays in. they'd have been relegated by christmas but for him.

Weird isn't it?

Loads of competition in certain areas (GK, CB) and the rest would be pretty much nailed on or there 's nobody obvious at all

yeah, you could make a case for reina, lehmann, given, robinson and van der sar for 'keeper. but then the strikers pretty much pick themselves in henry and rooney.

I found left back really difficult. Was tempted to put Riise in but my team was starting to look like Liverpool with a couple of others. Ashley Cole and Gabriel Heinze are the best two left backs in the country but neither are considered for obvious reasons.

riise's been about as good as any left-back this season. baines at wigan, gardner at bolton, konchesky at west ham have all been alright.

Effective shot stopper certainly but I don't think he's been the best keeper as such... however as this thing is heavily influenced by press coverage then I reckon you're probably on to something there.

Anybody who doesn't put Rooney in it is being daft

He'll get chosen alright, but he hasn't even been the best forward in the United team, RVN, Henry, Bent and possibly others deserve to be in ahead of him.

What I'd pick: (4-4-2)

Reina

Finnan

Terry

Hyypia

Riise

Gerrard

Sissoko

Nolan

Pedersen

Henry

RVN

What I think will be picked (4-3-3)

Robinson

Neville

Terry

Carragher

Gallas

Gerrard

Lampard

Fabregas

Rooney

Bent

Henry

The mancs say Rooney has been their best forward this year

Depends whether you measure it on sticking the ball in the net or "contribution".

he's won a number of games on his own for them this season and his overall performance level has been far in excess of van nistelrooy.

I'd give it to Quedrue, he might get the odd ban but he is a solid defender, scores goals and has good ball skills. Failing him the lad Baines at Wigan.
