madaboutlfc Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 different players different position.. Id take both of them
Nebraska Red Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 FFS, can't someone just answer the guy. for me it is Ronaldhino, he has so much flair and vision and his ability to make other players look good is amazing. also, he turns it on for almost every game and does not go AWOL like Henry has done in big away games.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 It was scary today that both of Henrys goals were f***ing brilliant, but it's just the norm to see him score those goals.
CaptainXabi Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Ronaldinho just edges it for me. He's younger than Henry too. In response to the Kaka thing, I think all things being equal Kaka is the worst of the 3 (which of course means he's not fit to to be a footballer at all ). However, of the 3 players, Kaka is best suited to Italy because he's clearly the best of the 3 tactically IMO. I think Henry and Ronny would perform equally well in Spain or England.

Ronnie like Maradona has that bit of magic in him where despite not playing well....he can turn a match on its head in one moment of brilliance. Henry though is often brilliant against the likes of Aston Villa, West Brom, Portsmouth, Faroe Islands, Malta, etc.

Roma, Inter Milan & Real Madrid are pretty big games. Need to wait until both have finished playing but at this moment Henry is probably the best player (technically speaking) I have ever seen, and that includes the likes of Maradona, Zidane, van Basten etc. He's also won every major trophy except the European Cup, which he richly deserves to win. The bloke makes the sublime look routine. Brilliant footballer.
Clay Davis Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 such a difficult one. I have this debate with my brother alot. I say Ronaldinho...but there is a point that Henry is much more effective. He gets more goals and assists season after season, but Ronaldinho is effective in EVERY game, including every BIG game. Both of them in the same team would be ridiculously good. Off topic too, but i forgot how f***ing good Zanetti at Inter was.
Dublinred4ever Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I think Ronaldinho is better than Henry by a distance to be honest. Henry is brilliantly effective but his style is somewhat predictable. He scores great goals over and over again but they're all similar. They involve great acceleration, close control and cool placement of the ball beyond the keeper. Not dismissing that for a minute, he'd be one of the all time greats at any club, ourselves included. But what makes Ronaldinho superior in my view is that he's an artist rather than an athlete with ability. He does things that are pure genius and unlike a lot of players that try to be clever with little flicks and tricks, they work. I posted here before that I think he's on the way to becoming the greatest of all time and I stand by that. Re Kaka, if I was given the option I'd have him playig for us over Henry, because I'm not sure Henry contributes a huge amount to his team aside from his goals, whereas Kaka will score goals and create plenty. Nice if we were in a position to choose between the three mind you.

Re Kaka, if I was given the option I'd have him playig for us over Henry, because I'm not sure Henry contributes a huge amount to his team aside from his goals, whereas Kaka will score goals and create plenty WHAT!!!! Right it's official people who don't rate Henry as the best actually can't see what's right under their nose
Dublinred4ever Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 he's not more consistent though and like you said henry gets more goals and assists.WHAT!!!! Right it's official people who don't rate Henry as the best actually can't see what's right under their nose Didn't say I didn't rate him. Read what I said, I've given the view that he'd be my third choice out of Ronaldinho, Kaka and Henry. ......Third best player in the world. When you consider how much talent is around at the moment I'd say thats not bad.

There's also not an earthly that Kaka is better than him. Not.a.chance.
Dublinred4ever Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I'd prefer Kaka in my team. Pity it'll never happen.
stressederic Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Ronaldinho for me, but the pair of them are the best 2 players in the world.
Dominus Maximus Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Kaka carved us up in the CL final. Can't compare Henry vs Ronnie since they play different positions but! Kaka vs Ronnie. I'll take Kaka any day over the little spinning doll-boy. The lad plays in a league where "to pressure your opponent" is a city in Russia. While Kaka creates magic week in-out, in Italy. Watch some of Brazils games and you'll see who actually makes the plays... Ronnie is a star. And about consistency, Kaka is better aswell. Ronnie only plays well when he feels like it. Scores a cracker every other game, and adds to that with penalties.

tag Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Imagine Henry & Ronnie in one team shld Barca buy him this summer.......... answering the 'poll' .....i'd go with Ronaldinho.
Lee W Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 The way Henry put the ball in Villa's top corner with such consumate ease was scary. Not bad for a flat-track bully. See the control for the first goal aswell ?
Flight Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 If the Mancs beat a*** this weekend and Henry has one of his 'can't be arsed to turn up' days, will folk think he isn't all that again ?
floyd Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Think, something along the lines of, 6-8 of Henrys last 45 goals have been scored away from Highbury. But he does like Portsmouth away
yellow jumper Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 both great players, but i personally think ronaldinho would be a bigger loss to barca than henry would be to arsenal.
Bootle Buck Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Henry is more effective as his main attribute is scoring goals. Ronny has all the tricks and flair but sometimes that comes to nothing. I would take Henry purely for the amount of goals he regularly scores.
sutty Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Henry Though this may be because I see alot more of him and the c*** always scores against us
yellow jumper Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 at arsenal, henry is a distant second to arsene wenger in terms of influence on success. van persie's the next great striker in line.
