Is there any way of avoiding the annoying front page when you visit the official site and just going directly to the home page?

It's like they are trying to confuse people so they will go into their store. Fecking cheap and annoying. Supporters want to go on the site for news, if they want to buy they will.

Trying to sell items to passing visitors - sounds like a marketing idea to me.

Just hit the back button/backspace (on IE), then you don't have to hunt for where they've hidden the <Enter the site you actually wanted> button.

for the record, i wasn;t slamming it as a cheap marketing ploy, just that i find it personally irritiating to have to navigate an extra page every time!

you can always slowly double click the link in your favorites folder. Thats always worked for me. not a perfect solution, i grant you.

In fact, if you haven't got www.liverpoolfc.tv/news in your favourites, are you even a proper fan?

I cant believe that the club is trying to generate revenue from its official website.

sack the interweb and that.

It would make more money if it didn't annoy the f*** out of its visitors.

Yes, but doing so requires that you actually have anything in stock. Something they can't quite seem to manage. I spent 20 minutes filling out info pages only to be told right at the very end the article wasn't available. This after they got all my credit card info.

So now you're complaining that they may be selling stuff so fast it's hard to keep up with supply? Bet you've never been to a shop before anywhere and found they had sold the last one of something you've wanted...a pint of milk, a CD, Razzle etc...

Did you see what I just did there? (> ./ <)

Never tried that, do you know if/why that will prevent the splash page?. Other option I think should work is to edit your LFC_SESSION cookie and change the expiry date to 2015 or something, I'm pretty sure this is the cookie the site checks to either let you into the home page directly or if expired goes to the splash page. Those using firefox can edit cookies using the "AnEC Cookie Editor" plugin, very handy for those annoying session expiries.
