I would love to see Lyon win it for Ged's sake. For all his faults he still brought us lots of success and the treble year was truely memorable.

Hear, hear.

It's mad, but Benfica, Barcelona, Juve, Arsenal, Lyon, Milan, Villareal; apart from Inter I could see myself being genuinely pleased for any of those clubs for a variety of reasons:

Benfica: beat us, Portuguese, it would mean they knocked out Barcelona in the Nou Camp;

Barcelona: presuming they continue with the ultraball sexyfoot;

Juve: softened a lot towards Juve;

Arsenal: love to see them win it, particularly if they keep playing like last night, the weird parallels with us last year would be gas too;

Milan: if they got their act together they can still be gorgeous, plus last year must have shattered them;

Villareal: nothing wrong with them, put out Everton, Riquelme a sweet player, Forlan getting a CL medal would make Ferguson have kittens;

but

LYON: it'd be great to see Ged's smile up there on the podium lifting the biggie.

ps Don't know why I don't like Inter, probably their manky kit and the hotel receptionist in the two-star hotel myself and the then girlfriend stayed in in San Donato was a blue and a c**t.

You've got to be kidding.

No I really would like to see them win it. Im a Liverpool fan first but Im a football fan second and no other team left in the competition has played better football than Arsenal this decade.

I dont care about them getting a load of money from winning it either as I know Liverpool will be league champions next season

I don't mind any of the remaining clubs winning the CL, as long as it's not Milan. I have high hopes of the Reds equalling their 6 European Cups next season, can't have them pulling away from us now.

Not really bothered who wins it at all. As long as it's not Arsenal.

You're still railing over the discovery that pre-Berlusconi AC Milan were the lefty team ;)

They weren't, but never mind.

Ambrosiana, mate, Ambrosiana.

Would love to see Lyon win it for Gerard, would be made up for him.

After them it would have to be Barca.

Really don't want Arsenal to win it, I want Henry gone and I don't want them getting the cash windfall that comes with a CL win.

And think about it, how horrible would it be to hear another English club being described as "The European Champions" every week.

I wouldn't mind seeing Arsenal in the final, only to lose to Lyon/Barca.

Not out of spite or anything, just that I reckon the final would be more entertaining with them in it.

Still don't want them to win it mind, even if Henry deserves it.

Arsenal aren't my first choice to win but I'm not actively against them winning. I've been watching them for so long, they're in the same country, i like watching a lot of their players and my favourite player plays for them. I've never really hated them despite them being our rivals so there must be something about them for them not to rub me up the wrong way like chelsea and man U do.

We'll finish 3rd easy.

I used to hate them after watching the Anfield '89 match on telly and almost losing a tooth biting on the table at full time. No-one came near me for about ten minutes, I just stared at the screen with tears streaming down my face with my teeth clamped on the table.

But I got over that by the mid-'90s because they annoyed the bejapers out of United (and being a Liverpool fan in Dublin from 1991 to 1997 must have been like being a Liverpool fan in f*cking Salford in that period). I also used to pal around with a very knowledgeable longterm Gooner (whose dad supported them when he lived in London and passed it on) with whom I never had the venom-tinged arguments I had with the hordes of success-gorged United fans, so that helped too.

But it's mainly the anti-United thing, call it small-time, call it akin to Evertonian grá for United. The fact that they ended up playing the best football I ever saw in that league just made it easy to pretend it wasn't pure ABUness :D.

Lyon can beat anyone in Europe.

I respect what Wenger has achieved at Arsenal but i hate them and don't want to see them win the CL. The sooner they are out the better.

People have a go at Chelsea for the diving antics of Drogba and Cole but what about Pires against Portsmouth or Vieira at Anfield ? Seems that if you play good football you can get away with that...

Agreed :thumbs: feck Henry and Arsenal......Wenger belittling our CL win last season...hope Juve dump them 3-0 in the 2nd leg (not impossible fellas) or if they advance, hope somebody bring them crashing down to reality in the semis. Henry can cry his fookin eyes out all the way to Barca and can't wait for Wenger to start clutching at straws trying to explain why they finished 6th this season ;) Lyon or Barca for me.
