No doubt Rushian's on the case as of this moment ;)

Indeed - been coming for a while now - the timing is as predicted too.

I thought the club had a duty to all shareholders to say at this point who exactly they are in talks with.

No - they have to tell shareholders when an offer is accepted by the board.

just got a txt message from 02 confirming the same, anyone know anyting else?

i had a quick look at the takeoverpanel.org.uk but coudln't see anything....

The statement from the club tells us nothing that we don't already know. Obviously things are heating up though.

Yep, as predicted by Elisha saying a couple of weeks ago, that something was developing. Poor sod now, has not only got the burden of naming the team, but now he has to be on the ball with the financial side of Liverpool. Stevie's going to be rushed off his feet

OK...

There was a thread or two a whileback, where Rushian, Mike and I were discussing this along with a few others.

Here's what i recall:

Investment had been in principal agreed - both Rushian and I thought this was as likely to be a complete buyout as was any other format. Commisions for artworks fro the new stadium went out pre Christmas, more recently electrical, IT and structural contracts were firmed up - it was one of these contractors who worked on a job with me who told me this was all due to come up now. NWDA agreed a deal to put in around £18m with us a month or so ago - objective one funding provisionally followed.

Whatever shape or style this new investment / buy-out takes, all the noises arer that it is of a significantly large order.

Objective 1 deadline day is the end of this week isn't it?

It ties in

Indeed - I believe this announcement is the precursor to a few other preparatory ones prior to the big one. This should if all goes well - and I think it mostly already has - be concluded swiftly.

Posted

I believe its the precursor to the prepatory sub-announcement of the preliminary stages of planning the beginning of the proceedings into a new announcement.

You've done to many committee meetings mate... ;)

"An offer for the entire shareholding of the club" sounds like a version of ManUsa ie Moores and say some other large minority shareholders such as Granada agree to sell their shares giving the new people enough of a stake to oblige the smaller shareholders to sell out.

How many shares has Steve Morgan got? Wonder if he is involved in this?

Not me FYDS, but thats how this whole thing seems. Its absolutely excruciating.

Ta for keeping us informed with what you've heard though. The plans going out to contractors was welcome news.

That is actually worrying me. Remember he came into another 100m last week didn't he?

Shared stadium and Alan Curbishley here we come.

The entire capital? That worries me a bit TBH. Last thing I want to happen is a repeat of events up the M62, i.e. an investor borrowing heavily against the club to finance the takeover.

We aren't worth that much though.
