forde Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Out of that list i can only see Eriksson going there or an outside bet Capello! We no Rafa aint going anywhere < Wenger,Mourinho are happy where they are at them moment Lippi said the other week he wants to stay in charge of Italy after the world cup and Ancelotti signed a new deal with Milan last week! Capello is an outside bet he did very well there last time and has said in the past he would go back there!
Guest AdamS Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Martin's comments are sure to place the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Milan and Juventus on high alert, but he did add that they would move through the proper channels.Erm
Leo No.8 Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Really professional as ever - naming a load of coaches at other clubs as being on your shortlist. Why is it they think they can carry on in a manner no other club does? I'm not even slightly worried about Rafa going there anymore, I think all that has been sorted. But regardless I hate them with an absolute passion - how dare they draw up their official shortlist of coaches and name ours on it, how f*cking dare they. Remember Del Bosque - down to earth, steady bloke who got the best out of their 'Galacticos'. Sacked for not being a big enough name and replaced with that plant pot Quieroz. Years of service trampled on as he was ignominiously booted out despite winning La Liga. Loyalty, dignity, respect - all the most important things Liverpool Football Club is famous for, are all the things which are lacking at Madrid. They can stick their galacticos up their pompous arses...
Flasher Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 No mention of Slur Alex. That makes me smile, a lot...
Stevie H Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 rafa, wenger and mourinho have all already issued public statements saying they aren't interested.

He is high profile and will be unattached after the summer. Should be perfect for them in terms of profile, but I don't think he has the acumen to bring success.
Benitez Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 No mention of Slur Alex. That makes me smile, a lot... the fact you said that makes me smile, a lot. What a daft comment, the guys about 70 years old and a drunk. Why on earth would he be on Real Madrid's shortlist?

He was only ever a chequebook manager at Nazio and Real have oodles of cash or him to spuff away. He'll probably blow it all on Joke Hole.
Flight Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Astonished Eriksson is on their list; he never seems to have any tactical nouse or ability to motivate.
maldini11 Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 So if Eriksson gets the job will he then make beckham captain?

psl Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 It was better than that -Del Bosque was booted out after winning the European Cup, not La Liga wasn't he? Both if I remember correctly.
Leo No.8 Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 If I remember rightly it was Jupp Heynces who was given the boot by Madrid the same season as winning the CL. I think Del Bosque won it the season before, but 'only' won La Liga the season he got the push. Seem to recall they lost to Juve in the semis in the year Del Bosque went, who then went on to lose to Milan in the final at Old Trafford.

Benitez Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 yep, he left after they won the league, which of course, is the last thing they've won. They offered him role of technical director. Real claimed they let him go as coach, cos they felt they wanted a more 'modern' coach to move the club forward, then they signed Quieroz
Cisse Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Ask any player who's played for Svennis, be it IFK Gothenburg, Sampdoria, Benfica or Lazio, and they'll tell you he's by far the best manager in the game. Only because he can't Ingarlund to win any medals doesn't necessarily mean he is s****.

Earl Hafler Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Astonished Eriksson is on their list; he never seems to have any tactical nouse or ability to motivate. But is high profile and capable of being influenced by both boardroom and changing room alike
Flasher Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 the fact you said that makes me smile, a lot. What a daft comment, the guys about 70 years old and a drunk. Why on earth would he be on Real Madrid's shortlist? Eh? That's kinda the point, isn't it? The Worlds Greatest Manager TM isn't wanted by Madrid. I'm quite sure that he would have at least liked to have been considered.
Figaro Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 They have Ancelotti - the new contract he signed with Milan isn't worth the paper it is written on
Cunny Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 (edited) Grauniad seem to think Sven will get it by default Madrid fans don't want him though The England coach is hardly the most popular candidate with the Bernabèu fans, with just 3.8% of a poll in which Benítez managed 28.4%, Mourinho 18.6%, Ancelotti 17.6% and Capello 15.9%. Only Lippi polled fewer. Edited March 29, 2006 by Cunny
McBain Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Madrid always go for big names. and always end up with a small name due to the fact that any manager they're after would have to agree to be a puppet to the board I dont see that suddenly changing just because Perez has gone
Leo No.8 Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 I've just witnessed a man age 30years on the internet I was shaking my fist and waving my stick as I typed it. Coming soon - if it wasn't for that pesky Real Madrid...
