was good to hear

Dont know if anyone else noticed it but I listen for it now.....About 3o mins in the United fans started singing "We've won it twice..." song.....a minority as it wasnt that loud, but almost staight away there was a huge roar of "UNITED" from a majority of others

Happened again second haf when you could hear them singing "Michale Shields has got 15 years" to Ring of Fire......

Fair play to the ones who shouted them down

Not convinced they were shouting them down, could be just a coincidence. Songs get started while others are still going anyway.

it was defo a reaction you could hear some boo's before the UNITED too./....the same way some of ours start singing Chelsea or United songs in the oub when we are not playing them and Liverpool blasts out by the rest

You sure that's right?

I'm certain i'm not telling you anything you don't already know but it used to be 4 times and it was sung years before the plastic pony went to them. Although it didn't start ringing out of all 4 sides of the ground until last year. :D

i have to be honest Ihadnt heard anything till last season

Chaps.

If your talking about the Birmingham game yesterday, then you are wrong. Because I have read this on here over the last few weeks, I listened out for it yesterday. Believe me, if any of them songs were sung, we would have heard them where we were sat, also it was like a morgue bar the Brummies singing. Anyway, there were no scouse songs sung by our lot. The Brummies sung we were not as good as the scousers, and you only scored 3.

Now, I am sorry to report that a group of 6 yobs sang all the Liverpool songs all the way back to the main road, but I am am also happy to to say that nobody joined in, in fact there were rumblings about "We dont need that s***"

you can say what you like but on 30 minutes the United fans sang "We've won it two times...." which was immediately drowned out by boo's and a huge "UNITED" chant....verified by two different people sat in T2 Stretty End

My post was actually praising United fans

I have heard that too

anny. Honest, I was not having a go at you. I was at the game and we listened out for it, but there were no songs about Liverpool during the game. I found it strange that they did not sing Build a bomfire even, but then again, we did not sing at all.

For noise, it was the worst game I have ever been too.

Sorry mate but I was at the game (mate is a United fan and had a spare ticket and I had nothing else to do for the afternoon) and there most definitely was scouser songs sung by the United fans. I was not far from the Strap-on End (near the tunnel) and there were more than a few renditions of "Gary Neville, he hates scousers" and a rendition or two of "build a bonfire" in the second half and they were loudly sung (at least where I was). No offence but to say there was no anti-Liverpool songs sung is just plain wrong.

There was also a chant in the second half with the same tune as "we've won it five times" but I couldn't make out the exact words? Don't know about the Heysel or Shields songs but I'm not au fait with the entire Manc canon of tunes but I did hear a quick burst of the "ring of fire" tune as well during the game.

Well it was relatively quiet at least compared to the merseyside derby the day before but those songs were definitely sung at least by the Stretford End.

Seems I owe an apology. Seems all the songs were sung. I never heard them because they were drownd out by the Brummies next to us.

Ooooppps

What is the "we won it two times" song?

Something about 'without killing anyone, we've won it two times'

I paraphrase, probably.

In the 80s we often used to sing "Are you watching Manchester" when we weren't playing them (not to mention more unsavoury ditties).

It's shyte singing that unless of course it's being broadcast live from The Attaturk. :)

we never sang the unsavoury ditties you refer to unless we were playing them (not saying it is right)

Also "Are you watching Manchester" was sang when lifting trophies and was (is) totally acceptable
