don't suppose there's any chance the media will shut up about this one now is there? crouch proved again what an intelligent footballer he is in keeping both stubbs and weir occupied as a lone front man and took pressure off the midfield in doing so. plus he was his usual good out ball for us. beattie laboured pretty averagely and never looked like having the brains to change his game according to the way the match was going.

crouch keeps seeing off all comers every time the press try to say that so-and-so is a better bet for international football than he is. long may it continue.

at the moment, as he has been for most of the season, he's our main front man and i don't believe he gets half the plaudits he deserves so nice to read this.. well said Stevie..

Even during Crouch's lengthy run of not scoring there was no doubt he'd be in the England squad. Sven has said numerous times that he offers something different. Crouch changes the whole pattern of a game and forces teams to defend differently, you simply can't say that about Beatie.

Not that I give a toss what Sven does but its never been an issue until Beattie scored a few.

He may go instead of Defoe as the 4th striker but certainly not in place of Crouch.

Beattie towers over him in the 'flabby man boobs' department

i tend not to ogle crouchy's fried eggs. i'm usually too occupied with xabi's rear.

Sometime in the 40th minute of the match, when the ball was spread to big Pete on the right, the commentator actually pronounced his name Croach  Couldn't stop laughing my @rse out.

Not a chance. That'll be someone with a bit of pace, especially with doubts over Owen's fitness. If not Defoe, it'll be Bent or Johnson. I'd be tempted to recall Vassell though.
