Can we finish second?

Its possible for United to lose against Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham. Especially since Arsenal and Tottenham are figthing for 4th place. Birmingham and Boro will be desperate to stay up, so they will be tough. Sunderland could be up for a laugh as well.

You never know what will happen so that is why we must win every remaining match. Pompey, West Brom and Blackburn will be tough matches for us considering what they're figthing for.

No, we won't finish second as I can't see Man U losing the required number of games. We need to concentrate on cementing third place.

United have got tough games against Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Blackburn away won't be an easy game for us, and the Pompey one could be tough if they need a win to stay up, but I think we can still take 2nd place.

they've also got Bolton away. I'll be supreised if they win that.

If we can win all our remaining games then I think it'll be very close.

We have the easiest run in of the top 5 or 6 sides by a distance.

Manure will lose to Chelsea (the Chavs will want revenge for the league loss earlier in the season). I don't think they will lost another game, but it is easy to see them drawing with Arseanl, Spurs and Blackburn.

That would be 9 points dropped. Not unheard of, given the fixtures.

We'd need to win our remaining games to pip them to second spot by one point. Blackburn will be tough, but if we keep our focus we can win all 6 games and get 82 points.

I think the chavs would rather the mancs finish 2nd. we are seen as bigger competitors to them for next season.

Of course, if arsenal win the CL then finishing 2nd will mean nothing, as we will still have to qualify.

No we can't unless the mancs lose their nerve which they will not - the game against charlton ended our chances of finishing 2nd

says who? liverpool fans?

If ht e mancs screw up with the Chavs, Arsenal etc - then with our (on paper) easier and now shorter run-in, we could do it - all ifs and buts thoiugh.

The amazing thing is we could quite conceivably get 82 points, not even finish second and be way off the top team.

There was a time not that long ago 82 points would have been enough to win the title fairly comfortably!

Last time we got 82 points we finished second to an exceptional Arsenal team...times change.

What is more amazing is that there are games we should have won that we drew or lost wich would have saw us top of the league.

I do know what you're saying but considering we've beaten them once in the last 9 attempts and in the league are still behind the worst Manchester United team of the last 15 years, it's a strange one.

the 2002 team was worse than their current one.

i find it odd too. the mancs are always discounted so quicly. this rivalry between us and chelsea is a bogus one as we almost never beat them. you can sortm of count the draw at their place but not really
