Luis Garcia

Most overrated player we have EVER had

thats all :D

:angry::rant: :dynamite:

I love Lil' Luis. He has that brilliance that our teams never had recently - the kind that the Pires' etc had that would kill us off in one stroke after we had huffed and puffed forever.

I'm kinda wondering how a thread aimed at celebrating a truly wonderful performance by our midfield, as a unit and individuals, has been hijacked and turned into a polarising thread.

It's all about opinions mate. Something that some people on here have difficulty with.

Anyway, LG was v.good in the second half. Done all the good things he can do well.

Alonso was otherworldly!

Who gives a f***, concentrate on our own.

Anyway, back on topic. Agree David, they were quality yesterday as were the whole team to be fair but the midfield did stand out, Stevie owes them bigtime for that. Also pleased with the way we still went for it with only 10men, I think the bitters thought we might of just played for a 0-0.

I can't ever remember a performance where I've seen 10 men go for it liek that when they haven't had a game to chase.

I said to myself that I'd take a draw as soon as Gerrard went. I felt we could dig in, play like the away side, defend like demons, and maybe even snatch a late winner.

I never expected to see us, as 10 men, take the game to them and so thoroughly dominate. At the end 3-1 flattered them, considering Sami's 'goal', Alonso's effort against the bar, Kewell's saved drive, and Garcia's chance from close range.

There was a brilliant moment not long after Luis scored. We were really battering them and had won another corner. Camera focused on Stubbs then, i think, that wee scrote Hibbert. Their faces were a picture. Just didn't know what was happenin!

I still fancied us after SG went. The fact that Everton had so much confidence was good for us. They may have thought the were an actual football team and tried to beat us with skill and technique!

At no stage did it look like we were a man down. Not for a solitary second. Thats a great testemant to our progress.

Sorry my fault this thread was hijacked, I was only making a light hearted dig at DH :D

Our midfield were magnificent to a man yesterday (apart from the El Capitano)

I thought Kewell looked like the match winner he can be, Sissoko does more running in a game than I have done in my life (not saying m,uch I know), L'il Luis was magnificent and seems up for the derby which is nice

But Xabi....Well.......:swoon:

Agree totally, as soon as Gerrard went I just thought to myself "weekend ruined", then we played some decent stuff, got a goal and come out flying in the 2nd half and we never really come under any sort of sustained pressure at all, even at 2-1 I was still supremely confident as they had absolutely nothing going forward. And as you say, it did flatter them in the end, bigtime.

Kewell looked much like he did at Leeds - i.e dangerous, pretty much everytime he was on the ball.

Can't praise Xabi enough. Was chasing down their defenders up to the last whistle, tracking back, staying disciplined, passing with intelligence and keeping the team ticking over.

He was f***ing brilliant and I want his babies.

Imagine how frustrating it must've have been for Everton's two-bit midfield to have been up against Alonso yesterday

Thankfully for them, Ferguson came on and articulated their frustration
