Did you see their pathetic banners? One saying "Scouser's section" and the other a professionally done job going on about "Analfield". It was so sad that someone had actually spent money getting that pathetic sh*te made.

yeah the Analfield one had 'bluekipper.com says....' at the top of it...

The scousers section one was taken down. two scallies refused to obey the stewards... they put it up anyway regardless of it covering 'exit' signs.... then a head steward intervened and they took it down..

hate their fans though... half of them weren't there for the footy, just for the verbal.. saw a granny in the away fans giving the paddock the two fingers over and over again... then someone in upper anny must have chucked something as they all went mental in the away end and a copper took the fella out from upper anfield..

quite a few ejections all over the ground today..

I don't think I've ever seen a set of supporters go into complete delerium....over a sending off !!

Stevies red card was celebrated with as much verve as a last minute winner. Complete w@nkers the lot of them. :P

They're whoppers. Them and there boring team suit eachother down to the ground.

there but for the grace of god lad.

It really is something you can never forget that. When your Grandad or great Grandad made that decision which he supported thank Christ he got it right.

but don't rest on your laurels

a resentful child pays his LFC supporting father back in spades by supporting Everton - seen this over and over

so dads: lay off the wife beating and other drunken antics and all will be well

I was in amongst them today (just got back from the game). It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I had to keep my own tongue quiet when we scored, but for the most part they were OK. There were a few murderers chants, which were not pleasant, but some of them spent most of the game yelling at our supporters; not supporting their team at all.

It did really empty out after the Kewell goal though, which was quite funny to see. When the time added on was signalled at the end of the second half, the bluenose next to me yelled out, "Let's go for it!". That got a smile.

They had their magic blue-tinted goggles on throughout the whole game too. One tackle by one of their players would be fine, but a similar one twenty seconds later would raise huge amounts of vitriol against the ref.

Still, four goals, two sendings off and a win. Not bad for my first derby and first home game.

Some blue is claiming that a used nappy and a cup of p*ss were thrown down from the upper tier. 12th hand info I have no doubt....

Only a cup of tea/coke was thrown from the upper anny and the culprit was caught.

As lucky escapes go, I'm the f***ing luckiest....

EVERY member of my Dad's family is a Blue.

He was adopted, and his adopted Dad was a Red.

We only got to know our 'real' family later in life, but what a lucky escape!!

It took them 9 minutes to start with their Michal Sheilds song and 15 minutes to start with hands in front of their faces as if they were oushed up against a fence, I checked my watch, disgusting.

The Liverpool Echo last week asked why it isnt a friendly Derby anymore, will they have the bollix to print the truth???

Think not.

Nothing surprises me with them anymore, unfortunately. A long time mate who is a "better blue la" went off on one after a few whiskeys the other week and spewed every nasty arlarse bit of bile to do with Shields, Heysel and even Hillsborough (despite also claiming that an uncle and a mate had died that day) out in one half hour session. Must have been carrying all that round for years but this was the first time I'd heard it from this one.

I'd only count one blue I know now as being old school, ie you could travel to a match with him there and back and not get into a load of bitter sh*te - banter yes, but bullsh*t no. We talked a few months ago about whether a big occasion like an all Mersey Cup Final might turn things around - we both remember travelling down on the train for the finals in the eighties and what a buzz it was all bevvying round Covent Garden together and all that gear - and take us back to where we used to be but I'm not sure the damage can be fixed between us and the infidels anymore.

Sad, that Smithdown. Without being stupid about it, I really regret the passing of friendly rivalry. It used to mark us all out as special fans imo but hearing these stories of how times have changed is truly depressing.

There was also what looked like a tub of popcorn when Neville scored the own goal.

I was in the away end, didn't think they were as bad as they have been to be honest.

A few gobby ones shut up once they were told they would be ejected if they didn't pack it in.

It's never been a friendly derby - not in the 40 years I've been going to them anyway. It's a media myth.

I don't agree. In my 40 years of watching derbies I think there has been a deterioration in attitudes but then a lot has happened since I first went to my baptismal derby in 1963.

I suppose it depends on what you define as "friendly" and how our derbies compare with others.

Derbies were friendlier than they are now. Sure you had to watch yourself in case you came across some d****ead but you could meet up with mates for a pre-match drink and a post-match debate, if you wanted to without too much bother. There seemed to be a smidgen more self-control in previous years with people able to spot where the line was and not cross it too often.
