Unfancied and unfashionable.

But you have made it to the Big boys league

Congratulations

Very pleased for them and Red Paul.

I've been for an England U21 match there - nice stadium. Awful parking though.

2 horse town is Reading. The pubs won't know whats hit them.

I must be thinking of a different Reading. The one I know is quite lively and manages to cope with sell-out crowds at the Madejski Stadium every couple of weeks.

Now we will see if John Madejski is strong enough to resist the calls to spend money on players - he has always said he didn't want promotion to the Premiership as people would then look to him for money and he wouldn't be prepared to spend it. I suspect he may be good to his word and Reading could end up breaking Sunderland's record for the fewest points ever. Coppell has got a very average group of players punching well above their weight.

It was piss poor when I lived there 7 years back. Fair point about coping with sell out crowds though.

cuffed i am, used to go to school with Dave Kitson and used to work with him in our local sainsbury's. Brilliant lad, was always something at footie when we were kids and kept his head low to try and make it.

Watched him move from arlsey to cambridge from cambridge to reading and from reading to the premier league.

Well in kitson matey :D

to think you "married" my misses when you were kids huh ;)

Kitson is a decent player, I reckon Lita is a bit of a flash in the pan.

The town has changed quite a lot in the last few years, much better than it used to be (that's not saying that much though  )

My sister used to go to the Royal College Of Art and Design in Maidenhead and Reading was usually where everyone went for a drink when i visited.

Piss poor but that was a few years ago.

The pubs won't get a chance to find out. Every time a Championship team with a half decent away (like Leeds or Wolves) following has been in town the last couple of seasons, the police have shut just about every boozer in town. Premiership crowds every other week will send Thames Valley's finest into a mass panic.

Fair play to Reading though.

Must confess I hate Reading. Full off awful wimpy estates and stuck up t***s that think they are special us they commute to London.

Or they are work in IT for Microsoft or Oracle or Dell. Its a town full of BMW X5's and Jeeps etc. In fact Microsoft do loads of stuff at the Majeski Stadium.

I liked going to watch Bournemouth play Reading at the s*** hole ground they used to play at.

But you have got to hand it to the club they have gone very well considering west ham nicked the mananger and a few players and still they have been the best team in Div 2. I am too old to called it by the ponsie name!

Well maybe three horses. Stinks of sh*t though. That could be coz the madjeski is built next to a sewage works, a brewery and a tip though, ( at the fact they have just built a housing estate there too)

Considering the pubs are already bad enough, they might just know what hit them, also Gilps is right about the old bill clearing them out on random saturdays before the games finish. Not really to do with Reading though.

There is a pub next to the station that is well known as the HQ for the chelsea headhunters.

You don't want to be around there when engerlund play either.
