can't believe (well actually I can) Sky were slagging him off as he was substituted.

He's been blinding the last few months, coincidentally it's been the same period he's been fit for the first time in a year and a half.

I had Liverpool to win 3-1 and Harry to score the last goal for us today. The lad's only gone and bleedin' done it, hasn't he! Well done Harold, I will spend my winnings toasting your very good health, sir! (hic)

Why'd you bet on him to score i always thought you hated him

Kewell is on 3 goals, all in recent months. Sure he is a 10-15 goal a season like Garcia in my opinion but he has been slowly finding his feet and today was a very good performance by Harry. Great to see him taking on players at speed once again.

Just going on about how he's not done it enough this season, and he's "one of those players..." etc, etc. Generally spouting the same cr*p that he's been rubbish since we signed him and not lived up to his hype.

Yep, but he was crocked for 18 months, he's been getting fitter and fitter the last 3-4 months which have seen him get better and better.

Hatred destroys the hater and has no effect on the hated, my fine friend. Hatred destroys you. It's like taking poison yourself and hoping the object of your enmity is harmed. I hate no-one.

Andrew Cole?

Robert Pires?

Cole was never hated by the majority of fans at any club he played for was he?

Pires had problems adjusting in his first few months but was never as low as Kewell was, until now I'd say, if he returns to peak from now I'd agree.

it wasn't insanity. He wasn't fit. you can't play if you can't run. All he had to do was get fit

If it was just that then I wouldn't have doubted he'd come back to form. It was a lot more than an injury, it was multiple long term injuries, it was periods of poor form, it was fans turning against him and the manager making comments in the press about not knowing what was wrong with him, it was a severe loss of confidence, a loss of pace and stamina. Completely different to just getting fit from an injury.

probably. Cole was a joke at one stage (IIRC) but i'm not arsed.

he was flying when he first joined and then he got injured against Bolton and kept playing on it. It was that that led to the poor form and loss of pace. He always said he was injured it was just a case of did you believe him or not. I think he had to bear the brunt of what a lot of people think about modern-day footballers

My opinion has f*** all to do with what anyone else says about modern footballers. I can see where you are coming from with that for some fans but mostly in the press. After Lineker's legal case with him I think the old pro's union had it in for Harry.

I don't think he was 'flying' when he first joined. I think he scored a few good goals which masked some patchy form and its from there really that I couldn't imagine him coming back to the extent he has done. Obviously you saw more in his game when we first signed him than I did so we'll have to agree to disagree on that.

Wow. That was a wake-up call. Really. Do you have more, Dr.Phil?

When I watched Road to Istanbul earlier, Harry played well in our Champions League qualifiers and group games.

He was struggling to strike a ball properly without it hurting. What he did today was evidence that he's fine now!

Still think he looks like he's eating too many pies, but it's great to see him back playing well.
